OK I'm not saying I believe it, but the thought occured to me. Is it possible that Prince was on the juice and this whole story about becoming a vegitarian is a front? I mean how long is this slump going to go on? He has as many homeruns as Weeks and we know how well Weeks is playing. I'm just saying.
I just heard on ESPN radio, that HRs are way down and at this pace, there will be more than a thousand less HRs than 2006. That proves to me that players are scared and stopped taking the stuff.
There is a chance that something of this nature is going on but considering the individual at hand here and the lineage he comes from, I would find it hard to believe. Prince's dad was huge and essentially had to retire from the game because of weight issues.
Also, Prince's lack of HR production comes from an issue with his approach at the plate, not with his strength. How many balls have you seen him hit that almost get out? He's hit the ball a ton when he's squared up on it and just needs to regain his eye at the plate.
For those reasons, I wouldn't consider this a legitimate possibility.

My true feelings are that his contract frustration is boiling over. I don't think its an attempt to not play well on purpose, but I think he is truly upset. In turn, he is swinging like a mad man (which can be good if you use it correctly, I guess). He will come out of his shell.
In my honest opinino, Bruan looks like more of a leader than Fielder right now. Not because of his hot bat, more so because of his attitude towards the team winning.
I really find it hard to believe that Prince's contract issues have anything to do with his struggles at the plate. If anything, you would think that those issues would be driving him to dominate. Sure, he thinks he got slighted but he knows that he is going to get his come-upins this offseason in arbitration. Keep in mind that the Brewers tried very hard last season to sign him long term but his agent, Scott Boras, wanted nothing to do with those discussions.
I've said this before in regards to this topic...We love this game as a game, but in times of confusion or misunderstanding, we must always come to the basic understanding that this is ultimately a business. Sure, you want your players to be well taken care of and always happy but at the same time, you can't give in to every demand you it results in anarchy and a situation in which noone can be made happy. Unfortunately, the Brewers and Fielder end up looking like the 'bad guys' here when really we need to blaming Scott Boras for possessing such a strangle-hold on the entire situation.

The only thing I have, really, is if Fielder feels slighted by the team there will be an annoyance that he has to deal with. If that annoyance carries over, I assume it turns into frustration at the plate. Professional or not, I would be upset with a $670,000 pay day if I was in line for what I thought would be a 9 to 10 million dollar contract per year. Regardless, Fielder gets hot, this issue becomes invalid (and no Turnbow will never be a Milwaukee Brewer again!)
I would doubt Prince is on the juice. As far as I am aware, there are really not any rumors of him on the juice around. He had a great year last year with the 50 home runs, but you are not going to hit 50 every year. With everyone having seen him for a year and the pitchers adjusting, he has had a slow start. We will see Prince make some adjustments of his own and he will get hot. Not 50, but I see him hitting 35-45 Hrs this year.

You have to look at the situation in relation to a similar one. Ryan Howard won the ROY and then the MVP in back to back seasons and still was renewed before he got his $10M arbitration money after his 3rd big season. Prince didn't win ROY, didn't win MVP, has had less production than Howard, is a year behind Howard in terms of service and still wants to be paid as much money as Howard got this offseason? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me and if Prince has a gripe about it, he is one who's in the wrong.
Yes, Prince has had two very good seasons (well, 1 good and 1 great) but what if his production this season isn't a slump but his realistic/expected production now that the opposition has had time to figure out how to pitch him? If the Brewers were to have paid him big bucks like he apparently wanted this offseason for a guy who's gonna hit .240 with 80 RBI's and 30 HR's, the Brewers would look like fools.
Boras doesn't allow his clients to sign contracts for their arbitration years so the Brewers really weren't left with any other option. I don't know how else to explain it but Prince and Boras are in the wrong in this situaion, not the Brewers.
No. I dont believe Fielder has anything to do with PEDs because of the person he is. Everything I have ever read about or heard from the guy suggests the opposite. You can choose to be skeptical, I'll wait for any real evidence saying otherwise.
I also doubt the contract situation has anything to do with his struggles. A combination of pressure (that he puts on himself), being pitched differently and the rest of the batting order struggling have lead to his performance thus far.
He had the power to hit a HR in Detroit when he was 12 I think it was and I don't think there is that much juice going around at that age. This amognst other things leads me to believe that his problems are completely unrelated to the lack of juice.

We can't just look at the public's view of him to base our opinion off of. I still don't think he is on the juice, but I am saying that Im not really surprised anymore when I hear about players using steroids or PEDs.
