What a win for the Rays tonight!  Although it sucks that Percival blows both of Edwin's gems, this was another outstanding win capped by Gabe Gross, who is really starting to come around, good job by Maddon for sticking with him.  Howell did great in relief, doubt he will be available for tomorrow though (probably won't need it with Shields) and great job by Floyd getting a single on a pretty touch pitch from Mo, though it was up, and then we did get lucky on the Gomes steak because the throw was not so good but then Gross hit a ground ball hit in the right spot to get the victory.

Shields and Kaz, lets sweep these guys!

Yeah, poor Edwin Jackson must be thinking, "What do I have to do??" He should be ectatic with his performance though, and if he keeps pitching like that, he'll get plenty of W's.

This is another example of the type of game the Rays lose in years past. Just like Perci's other missed save, they don't fold up the tent. They go to extras and get the victory.

Somebody pinch me, please.

That was a beautiful game last night, spare the blown save.

Let's just hope Troy Percival buys Edwin Jackson a nice steak dinner or something to make-up for the past 2 blown saves on him. Poor guy...

Either way, it's so sweet to see the Rays on top of the AL East and MLB standings..

What a game, it's stunning the confidence the Rays have instilled in me. A year or two ago, i would be thinking extras- who's gonna get the loss for us this time. But the Rays stuck it out and won a pitchers dueling game. And seriously, Percival needs to buy Edwin a new car if he blows another save for him. Anyways, the Rays are 23-16 on a 6-game win streak and they cant be beat at home. Did u hear that ever since we aquired Gabe Gross, we haven't lost a home game, he was here when we swept the Jays, BoSox, Angels, and in a few days the Yankees. Kinda funny.

Good Luck Rays, ur the best

....wow, I never thought i would get to the say that, oh well, works for me

TR - Pretty amusing. I'll take some good-natured ribbing from the sportshernia. At least they're mocking us for winning now...

They should be excited, this is new territory for this up and coming team. Don't come after them with some  "act like you've been there before" line , because this team hasn't had any kind of success before. Let them go nuts!

I am so glad my home state teams are doing so great right now. For Florida being the number 1 baseball state for highschool and travel teams on which i have played on a travel team against the best in state and country and the number 9th ranked highschool varsity baseball in the nation. This is what the teams should have been at a long time ago

Not an awful loss, the bats really need to heat up.  We could have easily won this game if the Abreu bloop was caught or the Gross linedrive got through, but that's baseball, we got some lucky hits a couple nights ago and we our opposing team did today, nothing you can do.  Hopefully Kennedy will have another bad outing that will give our bats some momentum tomorrow and heading into the future.
