How do ya'll feel about the moves the Titans made in the off season?

Do ya'll feel like your going to be there in the post season to help represent the toughest Division in the toughest confrence?

How do ya'll feel about your defense this year?

There's been a lot of speculation about your defense being a little weak because you lost so many players in free agency this year.

i feel good about the moves the Titans made this offseason.
i feel that we will get into the postseason but that depends on vince youngs play this season.
the defense wil be as good as last year if not better IMO, i think we will be fine
Jevon Kearse will pick up the slack and the guy we drafted in the 2nd will pick up what kearse dosent

I agrea with tennytyrant53. I does somewhat depend on Young. But hopefully we can get our go to guy as WR. But I think Jevon Kearse will pick up the slack that we have. Plus I  think our new RB will do some damage back their in the back field. With his speed and talents. Should be very interesting. So all we can do is just sit and wait.

How can you be a fan and not know who our 2nd round pick is?  Jones WILL NOT pick up the slack that Kearse doesnt because Jones plays DT not DE.

We didnt lose much on Defense like everyone makes it out to be.  We lost Odom and Laboy who were both up until last year underachieving (or they overacheived last year in a big way) Neither one has stayed all that healthy and it always helps when you have 2 probowlers on your line as well (Vanden Bosch and Haynesworth).

As far as this years draft helping the defense out Hayes will most likely see some time (because Kearse will miss probably 2 games with some sort of injury) and Jones will be in the DT rotation.

Last years draft should have a much better impact if they can stay healthy:  Jacob Ford was the fastest DE at the combine in 07 and he will hopefully be back to 100% after having surgery on his achilles tendon last year before the season.  We also have Antonio Johnson a 6'3 305 lb DT that should help in stopping the run.

My biggest worry is our Offensive line

drpeek2005,

I wouldn't expect to much speed out of Jacob Ford. Reggie Hayward our premier pass rusher blew his achiles not this past season but the season before last and this year is supposed to be fully recovered . it has about the same recovery time as an acl or mcl. Now they can play but not at the speed they played at before they were injured. after the second year of recovery is supposed to be the year of full recovery. Just don't want you to get disappointed. it sounds like he was a great player before his injury. if he doesn't come out playing like he did be patient he'll be good again.

I do not think the offensive line is as much of an issue as the ability for VY to pick up the new system and how well he will work with a new coordinator.  The biggest need for the team is DB's....  The team just does not have the quality that I would like to see...  If any of the starters get hurt, the secondary is pretty much in trouble.  I do not care how good the defensive front seven is, if cornerbacks cannot cover a receiver for 5 seconds.  (usually the time it will take to put pressure on the quarterback.)

I will have to wait and see on the defensive side... but the offensive side is the biggest concern, not from a lineman need but from how well VY picks up the new offense....  I do not know if he will pick it up as well as he could have... He did have problems picking up on Norm Chows offensive calls and they were as close to college level as you could get...  Should have been an easy pickup for VY but just did not quite get a grasp of it...

Before everyone gets upset, it is just my opinion...  I am not saying that VY is dumb.  I am saying that sometimes people cannot take what they see in a book (play book) and immediately transfer it to the field.  Also, changing offensive coordinators and having to learn new terminology and plays is not an easy thing to do..  Especially in the pro game.  And let's face it, Dinger is not as forgiving as Chow was so there may be some personality issues to deal with as well...

I know I shouldnt expect to much but he was an all american (albeit from a smaller school) but he should be able to contribute and hopefully we will stay healthy so we wont ask to much of him.  Next year (09) I expect all of his stats to jump by at least 50% over this years though.

I was merely trying to show you that we have more depth on the d-line than what is made out to be.
