I really enjoyed hearing Goodell say he learned "nothing new".  But then Specter informed the public that a Patriots player directly helped in cheating and understood the process of what was going on.

Goodell.... tell us everything you know, because some of this information is apparently new to us.  Goodell is starting to look like a politician, bending words and making things not look smaller than they actually are.

And for any Patriots fan... don't bother posting anything up here.  Everyone knows where your alliance is held and in what possible moment do you think we will actually take anything serious that you write.

ESPN had a poll:  Do you think that any or all of the Patriots Super Bowl victories are tainted?

17K  so far have voted.  About 67% worldwide say Yes.  The only states that had said No were..... New England (Mass, Vermont, Maine), Michigan (Brady went to school there), and Nebraska (who knows why?).  The vast majority believe you are cheated or had an advantage during your wins.  Your dynasty is no longer a dynasty.

The New England organization is a joke and so are their fans who try to defend them.

ORANGE...THE FACT IS THAT VIDEO TAPING DEFENSIVE & OFFENSIVE SIGNALS IS ACTUALLY ALLOWED.....JUST NOT FROM THE SIDELINE.

I wonder if someone asked Spector what the Patriots did wrong he'd know the answer...because most people on here dont know.

PITTSBURGH -- New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett says he used steroids when he starred as a linebacker in the early 1980s, and claims the Pittsburgh Steelers' use of the drugs during Super Bowl championship seasons in the 1970s brought steroids into vogue around the NFL

Haslett said Thursday that when he played in the NFL, steroid use was rampant because the league had no policy banning such drugs. The NFL has since attacked the problem, he said.

"That's because it wasn't illegal then," Haslett said. "That was my point. You had so many people using them because they were legal. I talked about it to show how far our league has come. We have the best policy anywhere on steroids."

Haslett, the Steelers' defensive coordinator from 1997-99, made his initial remarks about his own steroid use and his accusations against the Steelers on Wednesday in Hawaii, where the league was holding its annual meeting. They were published in Thursday's editions of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Los Angeles Times.

Steelers owner Dan Rooney, who ran the team during the 1970s, denied the Steelers pioneered steroid use in the NFL.

Haslett played in Buffalo from 1979 to 1985, and finished his career in 1987 with the New York Jets. He said he used steroids for one season early in his careerIt started, really, in Pittsburgh. They got an advantage on a lot of football teams. They were so much stronger (in the) '70s, late '70s, early '80s," Haslett said Wednesday. "They're the ones who kind of started it."   LETS SEE WHAT CONGRESS CAN FIND OUT ABOUT THIS

AND THIS          1- the "immaculate" illegal reception - I've seen a lot of old game films digitized, but never this game. I wonder why? Probably because they already know that Frenchie Fuqua touched the ball before Franco, and that makes it an illegal reception. Back then, two offensive players could not touch the ball consecutively on a pass. I've also heard Raiders players say that Franco caught the ball off a bounce. Notice on the old highlight, you cant see below his ankles.

2. Mike Renfro "non-TD" 1979 AFC playoffs- the play that initialized the instant replay conversation. It took the technology a little while to catch up.

3. Lynn Swann pushing off Benny Barnes in Super Bowl XXIII. Barnes actually got called for the PI call, unreal. Next play, Franco went up the middle for a 22 yd TD

4. The Bengals playoff game in 2006 - the whole thing

5. The Colts game the next week - the whole thing - Alan Faneca jumping on 4th and 1. The refs throw the flag, then huddle and say no one moved and no contact was made. What a load of BS.

6. The Super Buy vs. the Seahawks. Notice Holmgren was NEVER fined for his comments about the officiating. This from a prominent member of the Competition Committee. Also notice that it was just a few weeks later when Tagliabue announced he was resigning as the Commissioner. I wonder why?

I wont even go into the little things like the game vs. Jacksonville in 2004 where the Steelers were awarded a TD despite the ball obviously bouncing when the receiver "caught" it. They even reviewed it, showed the bounce and still game him the TD.

the game against the Giants a couple weeks after that

then there was the Bears game in 2005 season when the Steelers were allowed to challenge a play after another play had already occurred.

It is quite obvious that the Steelers are the referees favorite team

What ass clowns these Senators and House representatives are. I mean instead of combating the economic conditions of this country, or trying to get our soldiers home, or lower gas prices, we have to investigate a God-Damn sporting scandal....COME ON!

Let me break down your breakdown and point out to you the value of actually reading a post ...

I say "assuming you don't know their signals," because if you happened to be behind the eight-ball in signal stealing and have only deciphered the signals of Team A, that would put you at a more competitive disadvantage against Team B. The goal in phrasing it that way was to make sure no one tried to end around the question.
Also, point out to me where I said "videotaping is not an advantage." If you'd bothered to read the post, you'd see I said it makes cheating easier, and that is why the NFL decided to ban it, while not banning signal stealing in general.
The point of the argument was not that the Patriots are innocent of all wrongdoing, because they're guilty as sin of breaking that rule, nor was it that videotaping a team's signals wouldn't be slightly advantageous, because it sure couldn't hurt. What I am saying is if I steal your signals with videotape, and you steal my signals without it, you and I are back to square one, I just put in less effort than you did. To say that Super Bowl wins should be taken away and asterisks should be placed and all that jazz is totally bogus, because the potential advantage to be gained -- knowing someone's signals -- is no greater than the potential advantage some other team could gain by stealing someone's signals by hand, which is both acceptable and encouraged.

As you're a Broncos fan, I don't expect you to understand everything I've said. But do try and make the effort.

am dead serious. I am in American in every way. I love the States. I swear on everything dear to me that I am gong to leave this country if this investigation occurs. We are at war, we are going through a recession and we are destroying the environment. However, Arlen Specter in whatever world he is in, thinks that the NFL is more important. I think that Arlen Specter should have to serve a term in Iraq before he can do his investigation. I would rather have the NFL shut down or the Patriots wiped from the history books, as if they never existed, than have this investigation occur. I do not care what you find. Since when did Congress think that sports were more important. I understand the Mitchell report because steriods are illegal IN THE REAL WORLD. This is only illegal in the sport's world. As a famous 12 year old once said, "Sports is man's joke on God, Max. You see, God says to man, 'I've created a universe where it seems like everything matters, where you'll have to grapple with life and death and in the end you'll die anyway, and it won't really matter.' So man says to God, 'Oh, yeah? Within your universe we're going to create a sub-universe called sports, one that absolutely doesn't matter, and we'll follow everything thats happens in it as if it were life and death." Arlen specter is completely fudging this line and following it as if it was life and death. I cannot stress this enough. The government is the government and sports is sports. To those that think this is a good idea, you need to sit back look at the world and all its problems and put some stuff into perspective. Also, Pennsylvania, if this man gets reelected, that will make you the most pathetic and useless state in the union and I would promote the forced succession of your state from the Union.

First of all I am a Miami Dolphins fan.  Clear that up, and if you want to bad mouth them go ahead, I'm sure you can't approach the bad mouthing I've done.

But I just want to get a couple of things straight.

Why is Arlen Spector getting involved?

1.  Money- Alot of money, most football stadiums are paid for in part if not wholly by public money.  Making money on a game that was rigged  is called racketeering. Gambling money lost by people on games that weren't honest.  Money lost by teams that were cheated out of additional incomes because of losses due to cheating.  MONEY.

2. Anti-Trust exemption - The NFL has a limited Anti-trust exemption with the governnment.  By limited I mean it's not illegal for a company to go into competition, but without the exemeption , the NFL would have to either ass
