But I just left another thread where we were told that Michigan had dominated the SEC and dominated auburn, alabama, florida, ole miss and vandy
BigDawgs-
IMHO, anyone who uses the word dominate in the above context is either a 15 year old or has an IQ of 15. Those kinds of threads are the ones I usually pass by.

The SEC has a 12 to 10 advantage over the Big 10 in bowl games and 16-13 advantage overall since the 2000 season. Pretty close competition if you ask me. Granted OSU hasn't favored well against SEC opponents overall, Michigan has a 4 to 1 advantage since 2000...and OSU has "dominated" Michigan since then (6 to 2). The PAC 10 has a 9-6 advantage over the SEC and Big East has a 16-7 advantage since 2000. Does this make the Big East the "dominate" conference this decade? On the flip side, the Big 10 has a 15 to 8 advantage over the Big East since 2000. Makes you wonder.

Your are right. The SEC is tough to beat. Other teams that play against the SEC will not have an easy ride. They will have to up their game and play with force. Every year, the SEC nevers goes undefeated and even if they did lose 1 game, they are hard to top. Take for example, Florida. Tim Tebow passes for 3,286 as a quarterback! Thats outstanding. And we can't forget Percin Harvin who are outstanding when they catch the ball and they put up some impeccable stats. I used to be a Big Ten fan and now I going towards the SEC teams.

I was talking about recently in the past decade or so bilogle. Not in the pat 30 years.
sorry, but this statement doesn't agree with that.....
This SEC is the best conference in the U.S.A. It's not even close. WE have a great list of contenders for National Championship every year.
seems to me that "every year" would be more than the last decade or so....
I did read the article before posting.... it it one person's opinion of SEC supremacy......
and it's wrong......

I think the Big XII is going to have something to say about that. They may not have a team as good as Georgia, but the Big XII looks to have better teams at the top overall and comparable depth. Too close to call. The SEC gas Georgia and LSU at the top but not much else in the way of top ten caliber teams. The Big XII has four top ten caliber teams in OU, Texas, Kansas and Missouri. In the middle of the conference, the SEC has Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and South Carolina. I don't buy Florida or Tennessee as top fifteen teams. The Big XII has Colorado, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. while the Big XII gets the obvious nod at the top, the SEC gets the obvious nod with their middle of the conference depth. At the bottom, I think the SEC is stronger also. While I still do think the SEC is the best conference, it is not a slam dunk by any means. The Big XII is looking pretty strong this year while the Big Ten should be a distant third.

I am a big fan of Georgia and SEC games in particular, but the Big XII is not far behind. Nebraska pretty much owned the 90's like Oklahoma owns the 00's, but Texas has been a consistent winning program under Mack Brown and Missouri proved last year that they could match with pretty much everyone. Kansas didn't really play anyone big last season but had a huge win against Virginia Tech, so I can't really count them out from being a rising program. Texas Tech may have a pass happy offense but they play legitimate teams in the conference and very few of them are able to defend it.

Im liking the fact that most people are overlooking Auburn this year. That tends to be when we play the best. Au has a favorable home schedule and returned essentially everyone on D except Pat Sims and Quentin Groves(big losses). Being that AU was 6th in the country in D last year with no freaking offense whatsoever, if we slide a few spots down on D but move up 30 spots on Offense I think AU could really dominate the West this year. Any thoughts?

BHDAU1,
I think you are right. AU is flying under the radar. We know how good the defense can be....exceptions being the last two Georgia games, but I think that might be an aboration. Depends on Cody and how quickly he masters the spread. It will be close between LSU and AU for the West.
