Ward to the DL, Micah Hoffpauir Up???

I just found out that Daryl Ward has a bad back that might require a stint on the DL. If that happens, does Pie stay in Chicago or do they call up Micah Hoffpauir up. I guess Hoffpauir is playing RF/1B in Iowa, same positions that Ward plays. Obviously to me that should give Micah the edge and makes the most sense to get the call up, especially if he can hit anywhere near the way he did during Spring training.

Thoughts...

My guess would be Hoffpouir since he has more available assignments left. I think if it was going to be a long stint on the DL it would be Murton. But a 15 day-er it will probably be Hoff or Pie if they want to keep him up.

Just found out that DWard is getting treatment on his back today and will be available to pinch hit if needed, but if he does go to the DL it will be a 15 dayer. i know dayer isn't a word but it sounds cool. check this link out.

these small stints in the bigs can always bring questions.  the Cubs have a plethera of players in the minor leagues who could come up and play on the corners and pinch hit.  let us not forget Jake Fox who had several such call ups last season and did relatively well.
