please someone tell me what Joe Girardi is thinking
why keep Matsui and Abreu out todat and them play them
he did this earlier in the season with our pitchers when Bruny got the start and he ended up pitching Ian Kennedy later that game anyway
I do not understand what the heck he is doing out there

With the lineup struggling as is, there's no sense in resting both on the same day. Bad move.

It's now official and verified by Guiness....
The Yankees stink.....
Oh well, Metsies tomorrow.
Another set of Cy Young pitchers for the Yankees to take on.

Can't say we don't deserve to be at the bottom of the division. We may be hurt, but there's no excuse. In a way, maybe this will shake the team up a bit when they realize they're in the cellar. Rays deserve more than any team in the East to be at the top, and we belong where we are.
Now it's time to make things right. But we're here because we belong here, no excuses. Now get the job done.

A rod isn't going to turn this team a round single handed AND Posada might be in foir a grim awakening when he returns and the shoulder still has problems... heck, he wasn't hitting when he was in , so is it a bum streak or just the shoulder that some say was only giving him problems when throwing?
imo, the pitching has now caught on for a bit and the hitting isn't there.. when the hitting comes around, maybe the pitching will head south again... anyway, I won't talk too long, the Red Sox are experiencing some not to good pitching right now also.... maybe someday we 'll meet ya' in the cellar
NO!

Don't get me wrong. As I stated in a post before, I think the Rays are a good team. However the "proof" of that should not be drawn from this series. The Yankees are playing like the worst team in baseball at this point, and it's not because of the teams they are facing.
Here are some stats that someone pointed out to me. Going into today's game: The catchers (Molina, Moeller, Stuart) and third basemen (Ensberg, Gonzalez and Betemit) were 17 of 92 (.185) with 5 RBI since Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada went out with their injuries.
Can't say we don't need them back ASAP.
...ok how about the Angels series then.........or what about sweeping boston......hey i remember the Red Sox going through a stretch where they couldnt score any runs too......i wonder who they were playing....ever think its not as much the yankees playing bad but the rays being that good.....its not like thier 15-24 coming into this series and winning 3 of 4.....were a full game up now......the horrrrah

I do agree that not enough credit is being given to the vast improvement of the Rays, spearheaded by its new ownership and serious dealings with its pool of raw talent.
It is so much of a shock that the opposing teams that they still can't see past the blindness caused by historical bias (i.e., "the Devil Rays are lowly and suck").
But we do have to take into conside | |
