Loved it Mano!

It just shows how much we all should appreciate Ben Roethlisberger! It was almost painful to go through the list of QBs since the Blonde Bomber was tossing TDs to Lynn Swann and John Stallworth.

Are we sure Goodell did not destroy Ben's "Stones" before he got a chance to throw them? I believe they had no further beneficial bearing on the proceedings and therefore were destroyed.

As for the commercial reference, wasn't Kordell the first Steeler quarteback to film a commercial while still active? I want to say it was a razor or soup commercial (shows how much it stuck with me). The blonde bomber still has the distinction as being the first active quarterback to put out a country album (dang that was great listening, check it out my younger brothers). What ever, Arlen will get Ben's "stones" back and the world will be right again. Perhaps we can get hobo Bill to turn around and Ben can put that stone where the sun don't shine!!!! That's right, that's right.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.  As for Kordell and the commercial, he did a Superbowl commercial, I think, if I can find it I'll post it.  In the mean time, here is a link to a pretty funny Kordell moment from just recently...I don't remember him playing like that for us...

Did Neil O'Donnell sail one right to a Cowboy spectator? The last game he played for us, 12 years ago...... those 2 int's  STILL boil my Steeler blood.

nyb...they were horrible looking INTs, but they were just as much the receiver's fault as they were O'Donnell's.  Neil was throwing to a hot read and the receiver didn't pick up the blitz and alter his route.  They looked horrible, but they weren't all his fault.  Poor communication and bad timing.

Man they were both Neil O'Donnell's fault. You don't make the same mistake twice in one game. Let alone to the same CB; Larry Brown. Let alone in the Super Bowl. After that game, he shortly signed a big deal with the New York Jets. It still boils knowing we could have been the ONLY team with 6 SBs. It was a good game. Even though Greg Lloyd was getting blown off the ball; he and the Steelers defense contained Emmitt Smith to only 48 yds rushing.

Thanks for posting that mano that was funny.  I too had forgotten about Quinn.  The problem I have always had about the two interceptions by O'Donnell in the Superbowl was the fact that he was going to the Jets after that game anyway.  I don't think his mind and heart was into that game like it should had been.  I remember a network proclaiming that as O'Donnell's final game for the Steelers because the Jets were going to pay him what he was worth.  I guess having a QB who hurts his leg in warmups before the Jets played against the Oilers and missing most of their games that year, I don't think he was worth what the Jets thought he would be.

Now, I am no Neil O'Donnell fan, lets get that clear, but the INTs were not all his fault.  Its easy to blame him, or to say that you don't make the same mistake twice, but the fact is, he didn't really make a mistake.  He threw the ball where it was supposed to go, the receiver just wasn't there.  He relied on the timing and the communication that he had built up over the season with his receivers, and it bit him in the azz.  If he waits the split second to make sure that the receiver ran the right route, its too late.  They were unfortunate, but anybody who has ever played QB knows that he wasn't completely at fault.
As for all the Jets rumors, or conspiracy theories, I don't buy them.  Maybe his agent had talks with the Jets, maybe he didn't, but I don't think it affected the game.  That game was no different than any of the AFC Championship game losses in the 90s.  We lost, we shouldn't have lost, but we lost.  That's it, so be it.
