in this period between Basketball and Football seasons... i can't really decide whether i'm more sad that basketball is over or that football is soon to begin.

and so i was wondering what everyone else thought.  Which is better and why?

i have a tough time deciding that question myself.  Football has more to play for each week, opposed to several games a week in basketball where losing one doesn't kill.

However, basketball encourages more integrity and correctness, because they simply don't have time to get into trouble in between games.  Whereas football games are spread far enough that someone can go get stoned and still be ready for a game on Sunday.

Football requires brawn and strength.  Basketball requires agility and trickiness.

They are both equally exciting, and both prove to make me anxious...

so i say it's a tie for me

what about you?

(i know that basketball season isn't completely over, but i get tired of the playoffs until the championship, so for all intensive purposes it's over for me)

Football.  You get to hit people, and you won't get called for a Flagrant foul.

I like basketball more personally.  It's more fast paced and players on the field can play both offense and defense.  The whole transferring of offensive, defensive, and special teams kinda gets me bored... I usually switch between baseball and football games between downs/pitches from all the down time in it.  It's fun to watch but I just like basketball more.

well if you really want a more complete reason for why i consider basketball season over is that my team's no longer playing

i do like basketball... but i like football a little more

you're serious though... you can't see how someone would get bored with the LONG playoff season in baskteball??  it get's boring after a while

Basketball. Here's why:

  1. The only sport i'm good at.
  2. It's a more fast pace game than Football.
  3. You don't get hit hard a lot(i don't like getting hit), and if you do get hit hard it's most likely a flagrant foul.
  4. It's the sport where a lot of upsets, buzzer-beaters,and half-court miracles happen.

Go Basketball!

I prefer both
Actually with NBA TV and the NFL Network there seems to be more on the sports all year as opposed to just keeping it a season

Also check out some of the Summer League games as well for the NBA, they have the players the teams draft playing.

As a sport to play, probably basketball since its more accessible with a court and a BBall, all though my jumper needs work

Football, maybe flag or touch ... but nothing beats putting on the pads and smacking down so people ... but I don't miss the muscle aches after the game though

I love both, but football much better to watch on TV, every game means so much.  I wish NBA playoffs were shortened.

It is a tie for me.  From a fans standpoint I really like that in football it is a huge stage and it is going to be one week of planning for your next opponent.  You have to really change up gameplans alot more I think in football because there are so many people on the field and so many differant ways a play can go.  I like to talk about the matchups all week long and then cook it up on Sunday and get my sip on and yell and scream as I go for my team (usually TEXANS).  On the other hand you have basketball which I have played my whole life and love.  You have back to back games and a game for your team probe 3or 4 nights out the week but if you want to watch any game you can catch one on almost any night.  It is fast pace and the refs can piss you off about 2 times every min of a game.  You get to see highflyers and sharpshooters throwing a ball in a hole this size of a office garbage can.  Not to mention the 3/4 court heaves.

So I love em both, please no hockey and baseball is a yawn unless your at the game.

No doubt football is the better sport to play in watch. I love baseball basketball and football....but football is the best to watch, while baseball is the best to play

Weird that I only post on the NBA board for the most part.
