He is NOT a HOF player.....are you serious?  This is a quality player.  He plays well in the clutch and he is a nice guy but HOF....come on

I watched the story on ESPN as well and have to agree with the announcers.  He has a ton of rings and played in more playoff games than anyone.  While he contributed clutch play in the playoffs he was a role player during the year for those teams.

He is certainly a quality guy and has a storied carrier....I just do not see the final chapter in his book being the Hall of Fame

Granted he's had clutch shots, but he was always in a good position with a good team. Lakers when they had kobe and shaq, the Spurs, he's just had a great run in the NBA but he shouldn't be discussed for the HOF. He was a good player playing in an even better team

I don't understand how anyone can even consider this. He's been a bench warmer his entire career. He's been extremely lucky to be on good teams and hit a few clutch shots.

Putting him in the HOF because of 5 shots is absurd.

and was a key member of those teamsNo he wasn't, he was just A member. WHy do you think he never started? The HOF is for the best of the best, if the man can't crack the starting lineup his whole career, why should he be in the HOF?

No. He was never the best player on his team. He was never a top player in the league. He was an above average role player who happened to hit some big shots. I like how Jeff Van Gundy put it: "He was also really good at finding good teams to play on."

He has SEVEN championship rings and was a key member of those teams.  He has played in more postseason games than anyone.  He is pushing 2 decades in the league.

HE IS IN

As a Laker for life, I cannot possibly hate on Big Shot Rob...especially with the shot to beat Sacramento in Game 4 of the WCF to avoid a 1-3 deficit still in my mind as if it happened yesterday (THEE greatest shot in Laker history, by the way....because it came in a title season....unless you wanna argue Magic's hook over McHale in '87).....but come on. What the hell kind of logic (illogic?) are you spinning here sam? According to your line of (faulty) reasoning, EVERY player on the 60s Celtics team with 7 or more rings, even if they were certified bench warmers, should be in the HOF. It's ignorant posts like yours that make everyone who spends time on CBSSportsline's message boards dumber for having been there.

I agree. Robert Horry has been a good role player who's hit a few big shots. That's not worthy of a hall of fame ballot.
