"Just curious, but which official book? "

Michigan's media guide.  Their record also matches the record in the NCAA record book.

What's "right"?  We'll never know in all cases.  However when a media source quotes someone, those are the places they get it (if they're any good, anyway).

I was well aware of the Alabama vs Texas rivalry.  I forgot the coaches name but he stunned the Tide with the Wishbone Offense.  Paul W. Bryant liked it so much he called him and ran it a few seasons with the Tide.  It is a hard record to face but unlike OHIO ST fans i can say we lost and Texas had our number.  I would love to see the 2 face off (Bama vs Texas) because we want some redemption.  Kudos to Texas though!

OSU lost and the SEC right now has our number.  Geez, that wasn't so hard.

Stop back door insulting.  It's rude.

Go ahead and call me an oddball but my first exposure to college football was as a kid living in Houston and the Cougars were the big thing because the Oilers stunk. My parents were season ticket holders for the Coogs and were at the game, 49 points in the fourth qtr which I believe is a modern one qtr record. 1971 we came home from Kentucky on xmas vacation, the Bluebonnet Bowl between UH and Colorado was sold out so my die hard dad drove us 70 miles to Beaumont ,checked into a hotel on new years eve, watched the game because it was blacked out in Houston and drove home as soon as it was over. College football is the best. UH gave us the veer and also perfected the run and shoot and also were the first to team to play regularly indoors,

The rest of the stuff is all well and good but BOO to that part of your statement.  I have seen football in the Astrodome and it made me want to impale myself on something.

Are you trying to tell me that it snowed at a football game in November?  I call BS.  Everyone knows that the season ends before bad weather hits in the Midwest/Northeast and that cold/bad weather has no bearing on college football games.  If that game had been played in the 105 temp with 300% humidity ND might have won.  Too bad they didn't file for a change of venue.

Come on maestrojpl,  this was all well before Global Warming!

Excellent point BD.  I heard yesterday that "W" even recognized that global warming is a real occurrence.  Lame duck Presidents kill me.  They always try to make good on the things that they previously tried (with their best poker faces) to dispute or fight. Hilarious!

I see that.  5-1??????????????? Observer please explain that wack score."

I've got no explaination.  You've got to be careful at some of these sites.  You never know when they are going to fat-finger an entry.  I try to limit my searches to reliable sources.

Easy.  Stevens kicked a FG and then tackled the Wolverine QB in the endzone for a safety.

Fritz Chrysler's Wolverines scored a touchdown on a 73 yard run off of right tackle.  The Maize and Blue kicked the extra point.  Prior to the kickoff replays showed there had been a clip on the play and the Wolverines were penalized.  Since it had been 4th down Stevens got the ball after accepting the penalty.  However, in those days, they did not have to take the extra point off the board.  Hence, 5-1.
