I prefer to call them STAT RATS...they never saw a piece of information they thought was worthless and everybody hates them. They are simply misunderstood creatures.

So, what kept you around through nine pages?

Sad.  This is a thread about interesting numbers.  If I post numbers about Rutgers and Kansas it generates no conversation at all.  So I chose the teams who have the most fans on this message board to start a conversation.  In case you hadn't noticed those happen to be "SEC fans" (whatever that is) and OSU, USC, and Michigan fans.

Hmmmm.  Sad your RANDOM interesting facts start off against all SEC.  You are so transparent it is crazy.  So here is my random interesting facts.

OSU is 0-2 against Cornell.

OSU was shut out against Oberlin in 9 out of 26 games.

Texas Tech's last conference title was in 1994 as Co-champs of the Southwest Conference with a 6-6 record!!!

You are right this fun.

Try being a little more fair in the future with your random facts.

On Ask Yahoo, I found the following:

... and Camp soon introduced a new scoring system that reflected the early game's emphasis on kicking: one point for a safety, two for a touchdown, four for a goal after a touchdown, and five for a field goal.

In 1897 the value of a touchdown increased to 5 points, and the point after was lowered to one point. In 1912, a touchdown became 6 points and a field goal 3 points, where they remain to this day. In 1994, the NFL adopted college football's two-point conversion. This excerpt from "The Origins and Development of Professional Football, 1890 - 1920" offers a detailed look at ...

I do remember the first season of two-point conversions. Nebraska at Kansas ended with score of 40-16. All seven touchdowns were follow by successful 2-point tries.

BBFan, I am sure that the SEC does not need you to defend it.  Look at the alphabetical order of my first post and that will explain the order in which my random notes appeared.  Alabama is at the beginning of the alphabet, I looked at them first and then posted them first.  Then came Florida, then LSU which are after A in the alphabet.  M,O, and U come later in the alphabet and they were therefore posted on the second post.  That is the absolute fact about how this thread came about.

Do you actually think that the fact that OSU is 0-2 against Cornell has any effect on me, or statistics against Oberlin.  I chose to post facts about anomalies that involved actual legitimate programs like Bama, Texas, LSU, OSU, Michigan, Florida, USC, Florida St, Nebraska and Miami (got out of alphabetical order to make you happier).

Tech is a middle of the road program, but it is my alma mater so I will support them forever.  Thanks for the info about them.....although I was aware of it.  I don't know why you are being such a red a$$ about absolutely nothing.

Did I say anything disparaging about any of the programs on this 10 page thread?  I beg you to find a single negative word about any program from my posts.  Numbers are interesting to me when they stand out against the norm.  That is what this thread began as and it continues to be full of interesting numbers and facts about CFB history.  That is all that it is so please feel free to add to it and get off your high horse whlie your at it.

Get a life bayoubengalfan,

He does this all the time and does not pick on any one school or conference.  Look at all of his posts.  If it doesn't interest you, turn the page.

Not sure why you are so defensive about the National Champs.  They have nothing to prove.  Reminds me of the French and their concern about Disney World outside of Paris.  They constantly harp about how it will damage their culture.  If your culture is threatened by a mouse, then you have real problems.  If you feel threatened by this post, you have other issues.
