Who else thinks it's time to see Austin Jackson, Brett Gardner, or both? I do. I want to see what we have. They have speed and play OF, so they can replace Damon till he pulls his head out of his you-know-what.

The Johnny Damon= worst leadoff man in MLB thread= The worst kept secret in MLB. I guess I am surprised that anyone would be surprised to find this out. I do not know much about the 2 guys you mention, but I think I would still give them a shot over Damon. Either that, or put Melky at leadoff, and shuffle the rest of the lineup accordingly.

Unfortunately, Yankee fans are stuck with Johnny Damon for one more year. Still, he needs to be dropped way down in the order or put on the bench. I say give Brett Gardner a chance. He looks like a "true" leadoff hitter...

rhcp8807- I actually like the Patterson signing now. At first I hated it now im starting to like it.
As for Johnny Damon, GET HIM OFF THE LEADOFF SPOT AT THE LEAST! What is wrong with Jeter or the Melk Man? I would much rather see what Jackson could do.

How can you like Corey Patterson's signing CPTBronx? Just because he's had a good couple of games doesn't mean he's going to play like that every day. Just remember how bad he was before this week. That's what he'll go back to soon. Besides, the better Patterdoosh plays, the longer we have to wait for Jay Bruce! (BTW, Bruce is hitting .611 in his last 10-11 games. .611!!) He was a single shy of hitting the cycle yesterday. He went 3-3 with a double, triple, home run, and 2 walks. That is a hell of a stat line.

BigBfan5, you seem to be forgetting Johnny Damon had a career year in his first season with the Yankees; when he hit .285, 24 hr, 80 rbi, 115 r, and 25 sb. in his second year with the yankees he dealt with injuries throughout the season and has since been getting healthier and healthier.

The Johnny Damon= worst leadoff man in MLB threadCorey Patterson = Worst leadoff hitter in MLB.
You guys must both be forgetting about Rickie Weeks and his .187 AVG and his .315 OBP. Damon and Patterson are hitting circles around Rickie Weeks. Did I also mention that Weeks has more K's than hits; 30 K's, 29 H.
On the bright side for Rickie, he does have more runs scored than hits and K's; 31.
