its a tuff schedule but i think the dawgs can get through it with a one loss record and that should be enough to get us into the bcs campionchip game

Hm well I hope to say we can get out of it with only one loss. I mean Florida going to be hard along with LSU. Thoughs games r going to very close and very scary.  But u know the bama game is going to be scary. It came down the line last year. So we will have to wait and see.

Im pretty sure this will be another classic Georgia year.  Alot of hype, then Georgia doesnt live up to it and finishes somewhere towards the tail end of the top 10.  I dont know how LSU, UF and UT made it through the SEC to play for a NC and Georgia just simply cant break through with all the talent they recruit.  They always seem to lose to someone bad (like South Carolina).  I see another year where the Bulldog fans have hope and UGA just has hype.  UGA hasnt done anything since 1980.

Hey sportsgod, the only reason UF got to play in the NC is because they wouldn't allow Michigan to play OSU again.

The only reason LSU got to play was because there were about a thousand upsets in the final few weeks.

Luck has alot to do with NC appearances, i'd be more humble if I were you, gator fan.

Keep in mind, when Florida went 2 years ago, they had one of the toughest schedules in the land.  LSU's schedule was pretty tough as well last year.  LSU also had a pretty tough schedule in 2003.  As for the smug Florida fan, Ross is right about Florida catching some lucky breaks, ie USC losing to UCLA and the BCS not allowing Michigan to play a rematch with OSU.  Granted, Florida did mop the floor with OSU, but without some luck it couldn't have happened.  And we all know about how LSU got into the game last year.  The system isn't perfect, I just hope that Georgia can do it.  We have the talent we just have to have it mentally.  Losing to South Carolina was probably one of the best things that could have happened to Georgia as far as 2008 goes.  Now we know that these inferior teams can screw us out of the big prize if we aren't prepared.

I personally do not think we need any help from anybody but ourselves(players, coaches & fans). I know we have the talent as well as the ability. My concern is if CMR drops the hammer in the games we can to give us a decisive spread in the eyes of the pollsters. I would love to see an average score of 50+ pts. I think our D is ready as long as slick Willie lets the dawgs off the leash. Knowson, Caleb and Richard Samuels should keep defenders at bay long enough for Matt to find a new stud receiver, and Kris Durham is as good of a possession receiver as there is in the country. Not to mention Figgins first and I think only catch last year was for a score. Granted I am heavily biased, but the fact still remains, we have the talent, momentum and ranking to go straight to Miami. To go along with the tough schedule this is actually a bonus, that way when we do make it to the NC game there will not be a question as to whether we deserve to be there or not!

I guess at some point you would think you Dawgs would be tired of the way your seasons are ending up (AP)

2002:  3rd

2003: 7th

2004: 7th

2005: 10th

2006: 23rd

2007: 2nd

When is Georgia ever going to get over the hump?  What you are saying is they arent lucky?  All that talent, all those players and all those losses.  Dont get me wrong those rankings above are the rankings of a good team.  But not a great team.  Great teams like LSU, USC, OSU, UF, Texas win CHAMPIONSHIPS.  Or atleast get to championship games, maybe y'all will atleast win your division this year!

PERSONALLY I THINK UGA WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR.  WEREN'T THEY RANKED #2 BEFORE THEY HAD THE BOWL GAMES?  HOW DO YOU GET JUMPED BY NOT PLAYING?  BETTER YET OKLAHOMA A FEW YEARS AGO GOT WHIPPED IN THERE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP AND THEN WENT TO NATIONAL TITLE GAME.  WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT?  I SAY ALL CONFERNCES SHOULD EITHER HAVE A CONFERNECE CHAMPIONSHIP OR NOT HAVE ONE.  THAT WOULD MAKE IT A EVEN PLAYING FIELD.  OSU OR MICHIGAN OR USC WILL ALWAYS BE THERE IF IT STAYS THIS WAY, TOTAL UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.  BY THE WAY THERE IS SOME LUCK TO BEING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.  LOOK AT THE UNDEAFETED AUBURN TEAM A FEW YEARS AGO.  WELL THERE HAPPENED TO BE 3 UNDEFEATED TEAMS AND AUBURN WAS OOD MAN OUT.  RIDICULOUS SINCE THEY WON THE SEC.  FLORIDA WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND LSU AFTER THEY GO TO THE GAME WITH ATLEAST ONE LOSS.  SO YES, A LITTLE LUCK IS NEEDED.

Wanna talk about winning the division???  Since Mark Richt has been at Georgia, we have won the East in 2002 (SEC Champs), 2003, 2005 (SEC Champ), and tied for the east in 2007.  During that time Florida has won the East ONCE!  So don't bring up about winning the division.  Now I know you'll bring up prior to 2000... but just remember who was coaching Georgia at that time.

Nope, I will not bring up before 2000.  Cause who cares?  Division titles mean NOTHING.  Conference Championships are good for bragging rights with your friends, but National Championships are all that matters.  West Virginia can win the Big East every year and no one cares if they dont win the National Championship.  Ohio State could win their 4th consecutive Big 10 this year and NO ONE cares cause conf championships dont mean anything.  USC is in line for their 6th straight conference championship but if they dont win the National Title it is all for NOT.

UGA just doesnt step up to the big stage.  Atleast not since 1980.

STOP, trying to compare Conference titles or even conferences for that matter. PAC 10, Big 10 and Big East don't even have one. at least the SEC,BIG 12 and ACC have figured out what the others still haven't. Just because you run through sub-par talent does not make you good(i.e. OSU/USC). I understand being a fan and supporting your team but lets get serious OSU didn't even win the title in 02. The refs did. At the end of a pie schedule you don't even have to play the other best team in your conference, Thats weak. So regarding you r "Big Stage" statement neither does OSU without the help of a scandalously poor Out of (as well as in) Conference Schedule and some good ole "Home Cookin' " from the officiating crew. I personally think Tressel is an amazing coach but thats not  blanket statement for the program. I also like what Mike Leach has done at Texas Tech but they have been unable to compete, at least defensively. Both USC and OSU dodge known minefields amongst the college ranks and thats why they are continuously ranked high. Send them through a BIG 12 or SEC schedule once and you would see exposure the likes that Jenna Jamison could only wish to aspire to. So please stop with the conference and Schedule comparrisons. OSU is Good in the Big 10 and against Kent St. BTW the same All-Star USC team the squeaked by Brady Quinn and the rest of Ty's team, Got handled by Vince Young and Brady and the boys got Smashed by LSU, so please stop.

I like the RANT on OSU and USC!  Must have taken out the passy for that one.

Sounds like a Yankees fan saying the AL East is too hard, so the Rockies shouldnt go to the World Series cause the NL West isnt as hard as the AL East.  Or that that a team from the NBA East shouldnt go to the finals cause the NBA West is so much harder.  You can cry, but the rules wont change.  No team in any sport plays the exact same schedule as any other team.  There is nothing you can do about it, so why continue to cry and cry and cry about it.

ALL RIGHT, IM GOING ALL CAPS FOR THIS ONE CAUSE THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME CONFUSION WITH FOOTBALL FANS.  IF YOU DONT LIKE PLAYING A CONF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, THEN STOP!!! THERE IS NO RULE THAT YOU HAVE TO PLAY A CONF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.  THERE ARE 2 REASONS THAT THE BIG-12, SEC AND ACC DO. 1) THEY MAKE A TON OF MONEY 2) THEY HAVE 12 TEAMS.  NCAA HAS A RULE THAT YOU MUST HAVE 12 TEAMS TO PLAY A CONF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.  PAC-10, BIG EAST AND BIG-10 DONT HAVE 12 TEAMS.      &nbs p; WHY IS THAT SO CONFUSING???

The facts are UT, LSU and UF have come through the SEC with the current system and won a National Title.  UGA has not.  UGA fans can continue to cry and cry about OSU and USC.  But 2 teams from the SEC wont play each other for the title, GET OVER IT.  So you need to take care of your own and then the system will take care of yourself.  National Championships are all that matters, you can cry USC's in 2004 didnt count cause they won the AP and LSU won the BCS.  You can cry that OSU's didnt count in '02 cause of the refs, BUT the fact of the matter is they get the trophy and UGA doesnt.  UGA gets another year of great talent who came up short.  Dont blame the system cause UGA cant make it through the SEC.  Dont you wish it was 1980 again?

"STOP, trying to compare Conference titles or even conferences for that matter."

Did you even read the post or did you just start crying/ typing right away.  The whole point of the post was that CONFERENCE TITLES DONT MATTER only National Titles.  Jesus.

It's easy for a Ohio fan to talk smack, when they have it the easiest of any team in football. No worthy Conf opponents, No conf champ game, no worthy OOC opponents, "only this year with USC" Then their season ends a month earlier than anyone else and they just slowly climb the charts when teams lose. It's a farce. hopefully USC will put an end to these paper champion Ohio team.

What i would really like to see, is an undefeated UGA play an Undefeated FLa come Nov. Staff and Tebow could both be in the running for the Hies trophy, so wouldnt it be great to see? Plus, i think UGA and Fla are THE best teams in the country. So who ever wins that game, will be in it for all the marbles.

While I think that both Florida and Georgia could and should be undefeated going into the game in Jacksonville, I'm still not sold on Florida being one of the best teams.  Their defense from what I saw in the Spring Game haven't made that many strides.  Sure they looked better, but many of the interceptions were because of a pass either tipped by the receiver or just poorly thrown.  They still couldn't stop the run, which makes me smile thinking of Knowshon slicing them up again.  In my opinion, I know Georgia fans are going to hate this, but Geor
