The fact that the Rays pitching has shut down the Yankees is not that impressive, given the horrible stats the Yankees have put up this year.

Everyone seems to have shut down the Yankees thus far this year, mainly because they blow this year.  Can you say overpaid and overrated???

Good job boys and girls!!!

And iceman are you trying to impress me because your team's payroll is higher than another?  Who gives a crap, records are what matter.  I just can't wait until the end of the season (which the Yankess are supposed to suddenly be in first place) and see what the excuse is then...

Not impressive?  Well what about sweeping the Angels and shutting them down?  Blue Jays?  How about shutting down the BoSox at home?   No?  Wow, tough crowd.  I knew we were going to be good when Shelly Duncan went high with his cleats against Aki in spring training and Johnny Gomes raced in from right field to protect his teammate.

I am sorry..I am just sick of the Yanks.  They are just to arrogant for me.

My bad I saw the Rays signed their first free agent in 1995 ( this is off of their official website ) they played there first game in 1998. The Rays have had an impressive first two months but their body of work over the years has sucked. Eventually trading away their names like Victor Zambrano, Aubrey Huff and getting the pick of the litter had to work someday.

So first you're going to blame the Rays success on the great picks they get and when everyone shuts you down, you're going to try and blame it on lucky trades? The Rays got a steal in Kaz for Zambrano, but everyteam has had their share of steals. And for the record, Huff was traded for Ben Zobrist (a backup utility man) and Mitch Talbot (a pitcher in the minors), so I'm not sure where "the pick of the litter" is in that. Can't you just be like other baseball fans and admit that the Rays are actually a good baseball team and are for real now. I'm not going to hate on the Yankees, but the Rays just won 3 games of a best of 4 series and held them to only 6 runs. Isn't it time to stop trying to make excuses for other teams success? Once again, I'm not trying to hate on the Yankees, I'm simply saying that the Rays are for real.

No they made so many trades, and picked high for so long to only be I think a 500 team ( they could be better that bull-pen better stay put together ). I didn't start the thread off with the Yankees, someone saw that I was a Yankees fan and started talking about them.
