so, if you could field an all-star team using only the N.L. East teams; what would your team look like?

Here's mine

C: Brian McCann
1B: Mike Jacobs
2B: Chase Utley
Ss: Hanley Ramirez
3B: Chipper Jones
OF: Jeff Francoeur
OF: Ryan Church
OF: Pat Burrell

Rotation
1: Tim Hudson
2: Johan Santana
3: Scott Olsen
4: Mark Hendrickson
5: Jair Jurrjens

Closer- Billy Wagner
SU- Brad Lidge
Long relief- Tom Glavine
Short Relief- Cole Hamels

Reserves
1b Ryan Howard
2b Kelly Johnson
3b David Wright
Ss Jimmy Rollins
OF Shane Victorino
OF Carlos Beltran
C Brian Schneider
UT Yunel Escobar
UT Ryan Zimmerman

notable observations:
1b Mike Jacobs, although he's injured right now, is hitting better than any of the real all-star 1b'men of the national league, thus is the reason why i chose him. Also the fact that I'm kind of partial to him since he's on my fantasy league team. :-P
I really like him. I think he has tons of potential and should the Braves lose out on the Teixeira Lottery; they should strongly consider trading for Jacobs.

I think it's safe to say that Brian McCann is definitely the premier catcher as far as the east goes and really the only other catcher I would say that lives up to Mac's stature in the National League is Russell Martin in LA.  I rather like Paul Lo Duca but he's been injury plagued this season.  Brian Schneider is also a good catcher but he's more of a defensive than an offensive catcher and while his defense may be better than Mac's; I'll trade a little defense for a the truck load more of offense that mac has over Schneider.

At Short Stop the N.L. East is definitely the premier division in all of baseball.  In fact it's starting to mirror the great short stops of the late 90's that played in the AL East.

So how does your team shape up? Try not to be too buiest of the braves and field at least a few players from each NL East team.

Your list looks pretty good, but I would have Dan "don't call me Daniel" Uggla (my former high school classmate at Central High in Columbia, TN) on the bench backing up Chase Utley.  Also I'd have Ryan Howard starting at 1B even though he's slumping this year.

I'm a Homer too but Glavine and 1 win isn't sniffing any all star team. Don't think Frenchy's gonna make it either. I'll nominate Escobar for Utility guy. There has to be a place for him somewhere.

I'm sorry I stoped reading it at Jeff Francoeur the only all star team that K machine bellongs on in the Parkview all star team. Because we are limiting this to the NL east you could MAYBE put him in the reserves.

This is easy. I really think there are only 1 or 2 places that you could even consider someone else.

  1. Johan Santana
  2. Cole Hamels
  3. Tim Hudson
  4. John Maine
  5. Jair Jurrjens

Closer: Billy Wagner

I agree pretty much with 14 Straight =- except give me Howard at first rather than Tex.  Right now, Ryan still seems more dangerous at the plate than Tex.

C - McCann

1B - Jacobs

2B - Utley

SS - Ramirez

3B - Chipper

OF - Kotsay

OF - Church

OF - Burrell

P - Hudson

CL - Lidge

I found it kinda curious that you put Kelly in as the reserve secondbaseman ahead of Uggla. I also found it curious that you had Frenchy in there starting. Hermida would be my 4th outfielder.
