Crowdog, I'm with you on that, big time.  I used to get pretty wrapped around the axle whenever my team lost, but, well, getting older tends to mellow one out.

I'm right there with you, Niner.  I used to go nuts when the Pens lost ... some of my tantrums were of epic proportions.  I turned a table or two into firewood in my day.  Of course, there used to be a lot more alcohol involved as well.  Haha

To alcohol!  The cause of ... and solution to ... all of life's problems. - Homer J. Simpson

For me, I really started to calm down when I had children ... they always help me put things in perspective.

Happy belated birthday!

Did anyone see Downie destroy Laraque the other night?  Great hit.

Give Downie time.  He shouldn't have been playing this series anyway.  He'll develop into a solid NHLer.
If we've learned anything about Briere this year, it's that he needs someone with great passing ability to set him up.So true....I noticed that early on.  He needs someone to make space for him so he can be effective.  Guys like Forsberg, Crosby, Ovechkin, etc can make their own space, but Briere needs that winger to help him out.

GO Flyers!!!!!!!

I voted for craig in the poster vote-off thread. When I was looking at the choices five of the most brilliant minds were missing. I'm sure Leafs new no one could vote against Tark, Red, Crowdog, Niner, or myself. The thread would have never ended. It would have been all plus votes.

Happy birthday niner.

Went to my favorite bar where I witnessed the gators win 3 natinal championships in just over a year and guess what ? No, the 3 pitchers of beer and and nice ladies are not on my mind ...

THE Flyers WON!!!!

AND though I think that although the talk earlier in the day that focused on Detroit or the West Penn team was very interesting, and there seemed to be mostly a pro Detroit sentiment, I think the EAST PENN FLYERS can take em!!!!!!

Downie:

We played football on January 1st for about 12 years until we reached 30 years of age. My old high school friends who won our city our senior year (Ottawa). We had blizzards, ice, minus weather and even fast hard tracks. Guys came back from all over Canada for our game. Several played pro. A few guys from the catholic school that was our big rival and lived in our neighborhood also played. Guys would mock the guys who put on ten punds and players would early on in the game start nominating guys for MVP of the game...and unfortunately, GOAT of the game. Miss a play in the first five minutes, and some "friend"would start suggesting we had an early favorite for the GOAT of the game.

Truly, Downie is up for GOAT of this series. He has made two very big turnovers in consecutive games! Sorry tarkus. I don't say this to challenge your point. Just to juxtapose your thoughts with a line of argument some might make. I am neutral, just throwing out there a sort of funny alternative line of thought.

Oh craig, I completely agree, Downie is the goat right now.
Nice win by the Flyers tonight, but I didn't like the way they played in the third.  Take a page out of the Pens book and trap like they do.

Flyers were +2 on the special teams, which is huge.

Let's just take it one game at a time.

Yeah, Tark.  What's funny is the Pens almost killed off both penalties ... I think both PP goals were scored late in the PP ... I know one was scored with like 3 seconds left on it.  But alas, "close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades."

The Flyers played good, but the Pens just played like donkeys until the 3rd period, and then it proved to be too little too late.  J. Staal was impressive, though ...

We've got to give props to Randy Jones here.  He's the guy who's really stepped it up for the Flyers once Timonen and Coburn went down.  I was really high on him coming into the season, and he's been very solid.

Parent's going to be good, but he was in a bad position on Staal's second goal.

Let's hope that Coburn can get back for Sunday's game.

One game at a time.  One period at a time.  One shift at a time.

GO FLYERS!!!!!!
