Cmart,

I know David Oku grew up a seminole fan so we probably have the edge in getting him.

Congrats on the early jump for 09 recruiting class. We, the U, are doin the same. Its really nice to see that Miami and FSU are goin to be back in the big hunt in a year or 2. Time for the ACC to get back to the top.

Yeah I read that the other day but then i also read that FSU already has Chris Thompson and Lonnie Pryor locked up for next year and David would be wasting his time at FSU. Every video I  have watched on Oku though has been very impressive. I have yet to see Thompson or Pryor so I can't really judge whose the best out of the three.

By the way Canemanic it's nice to see a classy Cane fan. These two programs are on their way back to the top again. I'm getting tired of hearing how bad FSU is and how they have fallen off the face of the earth.

i know its early in the recruiting season but if fsu can put together a class like 08 and the way the canes are pulling in players i can see those 2 programs back on top in 2 years. with fsu i think it our hopes are going to rely on EJ. were he goes we go and i know thats alot to ask of one player but he is the key.

Cmart24:

It seems you were right about at least one of those players so far, Chris Thompson became the Seminoles' 5th commitment today.  For those that don't know who he is, he is a 4-star running back in the early Rivals 100 for 2009, 5'8" 173 lb. and runs a 4.4 40.  He is also teammate of Jacobbi McDaniel our 5-star DT commitment.  So that already makes 4 out of 5 commitments in the Rivals 100, and I think personally that Mizell should be in there as well.

im hoping Lonnie Pryor and Nick Alajajian will soon commit as well.   According to scout.com, they are both early 4 star guys, and have FSU as a high interest

I'm not going to make any guarantees but I'm pretty sure Pryor is a lock for FSU.

I was looking at the prospect list and did not see a QB listed under the noles(scout) that is 6-4 220 , I hope they contact soon before its to late. His name is Raymond Cotton out of Mobile, AL., check out his rating on sparqtraining. He has an offer from Alburn and a couple of other schools. I watched him play a couple of games his junior year and he will do well on the next level. Contact him before he gets away.

I must say this 2009 recruiting class is off to a great start.  I am very excited about our future.  We are keeping the most talented home boys home.  And, this year the Tallahassee area is busting with great talent.  Jimbo and Co. layed the ground work this past year and it is now paying off.  I know time will tell, but this class is shaping up to surpass the 2008 class which I think is dynamite!!!
Folks, please do not respond to that idiotic poll about "Will FSU ever be good", it is obvious it was posted by some juvenile and needs to drop down our message board.  Don't respond so it does drop.....please.

The Jenkins commitment, and S Jajuan Harley's as well, came after the recent Rivals Five-Star Academy at Doak Saturday. FAMU High LB Willie Ferrell was also there and although LSU and Illinois are pushing hard, we have a shot at him too. We're battling Auburn, UF and Clemson for Will Demps little brother Gerald as well. We have an outside shot at LB/S Michael Gilliard out of Valdosta, GA but the two Georgia schools are all over him. There was a wealth of talent there and it's great that Tally is becoming such a hot spot for recruiting because all these kids are in our back yard and so much easier to recruit. The only challenge is the fact that some of these kids want to go farther away from home instead of staying close by. Sometimes getting away is good for a kid. Chris Herren (former hoops superstud and his team was the subject of the book Fall River Dreams) signed with BC (was a Southeaster Mass. kid) and all his friends who were bad influences made their way to Chestnut HIll and he got in more trouble. So he transferred out to Fresno St. and eventually made it to the NBA after he got away. I'm not saying all these kids will end up that way. I'm just pointing out that we might lose a  couple of these guys because of that factor. Regardless, this camp was a huge boost for next year's class and we're off and running! Can't wait to be the class of the ACC again and to shut all the clowns on these boards up!!!

This is all the players that have currently commited are there any other ones that aren't on this list?

1.Jacobbi McDaniel- DT
2. C.J. Mizell- SLB
3. Willie Downs- S
4. Jujuan Harley- S
5. Chris Thompson- RB
6. Brandon Jenkins- DT

These names are of of scout.com.... but according to rivals.com top 100 players of 2009 4 of these players are already in there.... so right now FSU is off to a great start to the 2009 recruiting class....
i am ready for this upcoming season to see how are new 2008 recruits do... also who do u think will be starting at QB for FSU this upcoming year? Weatherford is not a consistent QB... Ponders (played in the VT game last year) looks like he had some potential, mostly looked like raw talent, then there is the highly recruited E.J. Manuel who has been compared to X. Lee and JaMarcus Russell... so what do yall think?

I don't see a true freshman starting for FSU, but I could be wrong. Maybe Weatherford will get his act togher, but maybe its time to give somone else a chance if he doesn't show any improvement. Max Enfinger just released his top 250 and all the recruits that have commited are 6 and 5 stars. The number seven ranked ath. quarterback in the nation only has one offer from Aulburn? Well I don't think the guy will be off the radar much longer to bad FSU didn't go after him earlier before everybody floods him now, he had a great performance during the last camp in LA (sparq 2.0).

Commitment #7 for the Seminoles is official.  Gerald Demps a safety from Valdosta, GA.  He is 5'11" 190 lbs, and he runs a 4.6 40 according to Rivals.com.  Although they have him listed as a safety, his highlight videos are of him as a WR, so if anyone knows what position is most likely to play at FSU, let us know.

FSU is in desperate need of an impact Free Safety. Myron Rolle has shown flashes of brillance, but FSU doesn't have a proven All-American safety that can bring the WOOD as well as get ther hands on a few balls. In an interview with Warchant.com, Gerald talked about playing mainly safety with the chance to also play some receiver/returner and corner.
