It involves a trade of Prince Fielder, Bill Hall (who could play SS or 2B for them), and Brian Shouse to the Blue Jays for Lyle Overbay, Aaron Hill (who would play 3B), Shawn Marcum, and Scott Downs.

I realize we give up a lot in this trade, but we get a lot back.  I think it would be a good trade for both sides.  It would add some OBP to our lineup and a pitcher in Marcum who has the capability to be an ace (along with Gallardo) should we not be able to sign Sheets as well as a capable reliever.  For the Blue Jays, adding Fielder and Hall to a lineup with Wells (who's hurt right now), Rios, Rolen, and having the ability to DH Fielder would make the trade well worth it.  I think he would provide another legitimate power threat to their lineup.

I'm just about to the point where I wouldn't seeing the Brewers trade away Prince if they could get a pitcher with the capability of Marcum.  This is especially true since he seems to not want to play since he announced he was "not happy with his contract".

I realize giving up Prince could be a mistake, but that's why I say trade him to the American League.

NO WAY.  Come on, Financially this is even dumb as Overbay is making more than Prince.  Marcum is a nice starter, but he won't ever be an ace.  I would rather have Dustin McCowen as I think he has better stuff and more potential.  Basically I don't give up on Prince, way to early even if he won't sign a extention here we still have a dominant hitter for at least 3 1/2 more seasons.

I do like Aaron Hill, but I think the Jays do as well as they just signed him to a extention.

Since we are talking trade with the Blue Jays how about we offer them Bill Hall for a couple 12 packs of La Batt Blue?

Problem is I think Prince is going to be a lot like Sheffield about his contract - I see a ton of similarities already - I say get rid of him while he still has a ton of value.  I just don't want to see them get stuck again.  If you want McGowan instead, I'm sure the Brewers could work that too - Marcum has the better numbers over the past 2 years - that's why I selected him.  I think Gallardo can (and will) be the future ace - I just want a solid pitcher in return.

Financially it evens out - remember Hall's got a BIG contract and Prince is going to get a HUGE contract.  If anything, now that I think about it in order for the deal to get done the Crew would probably have to throw in a mid-level prospect like a Cole Gillespie.

Remember, Prince has Scott Boras as an agent - which is who Gary Sheffield HAD when he was negotiating with the Brewers

I like the lineup versatility that Overbay and Hill would bring to the Brewers.  It seems like the Crew has the same type of hitter up about 6 times in a row with this lineup.

I guess I am hoping, or assuming Prince doesn't become a Sheffield like distraction.  I agree that Gallardo will be the ace of the future and Ben Sheets is likely gone after the season.   Marcum is a sinkerball type of pitcher and McGowen more of a power pitcher with a nasty breaking ball. McGowen has been a little more inconsitant.   My dislike for Hall has been well documented so I wouldn't be sad to see him go.

Interesting thought, but Shaun Marcum is too valuable for the Blue Jays to give up (even for Prince Fielder).  As much as this trade may make sense at first glance, the Brewers can't afford to give up all that for what the Blue Jays would give them.

Lyle OverbayAaron Hill?  There's a reason Roy Halladay isn't winning..
