This really sucks.  The Cavs best shooter off the bench goes down.

Bring on Damon Jones?

well Delonte West needs to play better then he already has. and LeBron James needs to start making his jumper on a more consistant basis. and lets not forget Damon Jones still can shoot. but sasha pavlovicis also a decent shooter they just need to be patient and look for the open shot.

Let's not forget the stud Damon Jones was for the Miami Heat when they won their Title.  I love Shaq and have followed him since his Orlando days.  Needless to say I saw Damon every game that year because he was playing with Shaq.  Give him 10 open three pointers in game 6 and he'll knock down 6 of them.  You wait and see.  They'll be forced to play him even though he's been in the dog house and he'll come up HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with this. I was sad to not see damon out there when gibson got hurt. Damon has a clutch shot. I'm sad he hasn't seen much action after the trade.

This would be a non issue is Doc was a decent coach. The series would be said and done with Boston waiting to take on the Pistons. Sam Cassell might be single-handedly keeping the Cavs in this series. "Boobie" (which is an awful nickname) Gibson got most of his points in this series while being covered by old man Sam cassell. Send that guy back to area 51 and give house some burn. When it comes down to it, the celts top 5 heavily outshine the cavs top 5. Give me rondo, allen, pierce, posey, and garnett in there with PJ Brown, Perkins, and house spelling those guys.

Bummer.

If Damon can show up like he did in the win when the Cavs only dressed 7-8 guys right after the trade, he could make a big contribution. The question is whether or not he'll be too much of a defensive liability. If the Cavs win game 6 (and I think they will), it will be because of their defense (like game 4), not their shooting.

why didn't Damon Jones play last night during that 4th quarter?  I think we could have used some 3's from him.

To address the Damon Jones comments, I do think he has the mentality to come in and shoot well. However, his defense is terrible.

Similar to Wally, he must shoot unbelievably well to offset a lack of defense. However, in contrast to Wally, he cannot simply make up for a lack of athleticism with increased effort. I have been very surprised to see that Wally has not been exposed on the defensive end as much as I had thought he would be (although Pierce got to him the last game). I don't think Damon can man up with Allen or Rondo, but he can come up huge in specific shooting (offense for defense) scenarios. I look for the Cavs to just play big (insert Sasha with Lebron at the point) when West is subbed out.

Although I don't think we have a shot at the title without Gibson, let's not forget the Cavs were right there at the end with Gibson having a lackluster Game 5. All that really matters is that Mike Brown puts Lebron is new positions to score and the co-stars make their shots. Our defense is always pretty solid, leaving us in a position to win most of the time. Go Cavs!

I agree that we don't have much of the shot at the title without Gibson. He has the hot hand come playoff time. However, I don't think this will have much of an effect on this series. Gibson has basically not been a factor in the Celtics series other than game 4 (where everyone on the team had a good game). I think his height plays a big factor against the Celtic defenders. If the Cavs get to the Pistons, Gibson is essential.
