In an interview on Boston sports raido WEEI, this morning. Among the tidbits:
- Walsh disclosed to Specter that a "suspicious" Jets cameraman stood next to him on the sidelines during one Jets/Patriots game. Specter said numerous times that he thought Walsh was a "credible" witness. So, why hasn't Specter launched a crusade against the Jets?
- If an investigation were to occur, Specter believes it should be league-wide. Yet he continues to hammer only on the Patriots.
- When asked why he did not become involved with the NBA/referee gambling scandal, he answered that it was an internal league-matter, and essentially none of his business. When pressed to say why he did not feel the same way about the NFL investigation of the Patriots, he evaded the question.
- Specter said that he has been careful to avoid asking for a Senate investigation of the Patriots. He then said he believed an independent investigation should be conducted. He then disclosed that he turned down an offer of funds from senator Patrick Leahy to hire investigators, because he thought he could handle it himself. Huh? Could it be that he wants to control the outcome of any such investigation?
- When asked about his Eagles allegiance, he denied it was a factor, when in an interview on February 8, he admitted it was factor in his pursuit of this issue. Flip-flop much? In general, he evaded any questions about ties to Comcast or any other source of bias.
- Lastly, when asked where he would go from here, he said that depends on puclic opinion. In other words, he's sticking his finger in the air to see which way the wind blows. Typical politician.
Sorry merry band of Hatriots. Your hero is a fraud. There might be a few more days of columns, and then maybe you can start thinking about your own crappy teams.
