Well, at least Lurie and Banner splurge on Linebacking! Gaither, Gocong, and Bradley!!!! Yowzer, look out NFC East these guys mean business. Let's come up with a name for them: How about the "Three Amigo's" or how about "The Three Stooges"!!
That Eagle Talon thing was pretty clever, I have to admit. Maybe you are only semi-retarded.
These are (3) guys who haven't even had serious time in the NFL yet. How can you make an intelligent statement about them if you have never even seen them play yet? Just because you know their names, and they didn't come from Ohio State or Penn State you assume that they can't be good starting linebackers. Time will tell my friend, time will tell.

MVKrum,
I have to admit. Maybe you are only semi-retarded: Thanks for the kind words!
These are (3) guys who haven't even had serious time in the NFL yet. How can you make an intelligent statement about them if you have never even seen them play yet? Okay, fair enough. In all honesty it would be pretty impressive to see these three guys turn into a solid linebacking crew. Seems like every single year the Eagles are releasing a LB and signing a new one. None of these guys have more than 2 seasons on their bodies so maybe Reid keeps them around for at least 3 season together. Maybe then the Eagles unwillingness to take the LB position serious will end up working out.
How can you make an intelligent statement about them if you have never even seen them play yet? Please tell this to the posters on here that say GB will fail because of Aaron Rodgers. Romo sat for 3 seasons before turning into a 2 time probowler. Rodgers sat for the same amount of time.

Hey I never said it. Aaron Rodgers has every chance to become a good QB in the NFL. He has some decent weapons, possibly a decent running game if Ryan Grant isn't a fluke, and the Packers have a good defense. Kevin Kolb will be in those same shoes in a few years i'm sure. Without seeing Rodgers for an extended period of time, I will withhold judgement.

what do i need to clear up for you...
you wrote: "I love when people on here just start throwing out names because the guy plays football in the NFL"
then not a few posts later you wrote: ".........warn him about Ware, Ellis, Strahan, Umenyiora, and Andre Carter."
so yeah... i love when people on here (YOU) just start throwing out names because the guy plays football in the NFL.
"Well, at least Lurie and Banner splurge on Linebacking!"
you know a LOT LESS about the Eagles then you think you know. So your saying teams have to spend a ton of $ to have good LB's now???
Green Bay starting 3:
Barnett-2008: $2 million (+ $625,000 roster bonus + $150,000 workout bonus)
Hawk-2008: $1.95 million
Poppinga-2008: $927,000
Eagles:
Bradley-2008: $370,000
Gaither-2008: $445,000
Gocong-2008: $445,000
you really think your group is $4mill better? Packers are gonna get THAT much more production from there LB's this year? Why don't we just wait to see Bradley with a full training camp under his belt... then you might start to see our lower priced young LB's as a hella bargain. AJ Hawk - is he overpaid? maybe. has he lived up to the #5 overall pick? i'd lean towards no... this guy was supposed to set the world on fire coming in... the next GREAT LB. AJ (5th overall pick - GIANT pay check) - 105 tackles last year, 1 sack, 1 INT... Gaither (5th round pick!!!! - low pay check) - 103 tackles, 1 INT. hmmm who's getting the better value right now....
are 2 tackles and 1 sack worth almost 1.5 million more in Green Bay?
Barnett - GREAT - nothing else to say. he'll make some bone head plays, get dumb penalties but 95% he's excellent.
Poppinga/Chillar - these guys never wowed anyone. 50-60 tackle seasons for there careers
the young Eagles LB's will surprise a large chunk of the NFL next year. Packer's LB's will be solid as usual... but compare the drastic price tag difference and lets look at the overall production at the end of the year... then we'll see if it's Eagles being "Cheap" or "Smart". Smart in handing over the starting LB duties to such young talented LB's... And not having to pay them the big $... yet
so are you gonna call your Packers cheap for not shelling out the big money for your RB's and QB's?

i love when people on here (YOU) just start throwing out names because the guy plays football in the NFL.: We've already been over this twice!!!!!! The 5 guys I named all had double-digit sack totals last year AND I even forgot to mention J.Tuck of the Giants who had ten as well. Two of the guys I mentioned were probowlers as well. You gave me four guys that had the following sack totals: 9,8,5,5 and not one was a probowler last year. I named six really good reason the NFL's 5th worst o-line (Eagles) should be worried this upcoming year and you named 4 guys that just happen to start in the NFL basically! You were naming names for the sake of naming names. That was my point.
AJ (5th overall pick - GIANT pay check) - 105 tackles last year, 1 sack, 1 INT... Gaither (5th round pick!!!! - low pay check) - 103 tackles, 1 INT. hmmm who's getting the better value right now.... Why don't we answer that after Gaither actually plays a season at OLB! You used his MLB #'s where it isn't exactly a huge feat getting 100 tackles. Gocong plays OLB and ended up with about 60 tackles which is more in line with what you'll see from Gaither. If we compare Gaither to GB's MLB it's not even close. Barnett, 131 tackles 3.5 sacks 2 Ints. As an OLB Hawk has registered over 100 tackles his 1st 2 years. As an ILB, Barnett has registered over 100 tackles in his first 5 years
Comparing Hawk to Gocong would make sense because they both played OLB last year. Hawks numbers almost double Gocongs so forget value you brainwashed fool, let's look at quality and production!!
so are you gonna call your Packers cheap for not shelling out the big money for your RB's and QB's? Well that would be foolish for me to do that considering Favre was in the top 3-4 in QB salaries since about 2001. Ahman Green made decent money too until it wasn't worth holding onto an aging, injury prone RB anymore. Based on his numbers with Houston I'd say they made the right decision.
Are you proud of the way the Eagles treat their best offensive player (Westbrook) during contract negotiations? He is nowhere near being paid what he deserves so it's just a matter of time before he's gone just like Lito.

Johnny F~
Let's put this in realistic terms we can ALL understand.
You just lost a ProBowl, HOF QB, and you think this kid is going to come in and have the same (or close) production as Favre did?
Really? Even close??
Have you ever been inside an football locker room? I'll answer that for you. No!! Your posts speak to stats ONLY with no real understanding of what's going on in the actual game. You look up the numbers and spit them out w/o really knowing how those numbers affect the game or exactly what they mean.
We can ALL look up numbers, some of us don't have to. However, the good ones know how those numbers affect the game and the meanings behind those numbers.
Favre was THE QB of Green Bay for HOW many years? He was an ELITE QB for how many years? He was "Mr. Green Bay" for how many years? Aaron Rodgers has to AT LEAST do "above average" to even stay in the starting offensive huddle. He will be frowned upon very, very, very, very quickly IF, IF he does not produce. The team believed in Favre, not in him, not yet. The fans own the team. He has a really short leash in those terms
You quote the sack numbers but do not know why the mean what they mean. THAT WAS a LEGEND QB in Green Bay; PLUS he had a rifle arm with a KNOWLEDGE of footbal like no other. He's kinda like Peyton in that regard. The offensive line was allowed very little error in regards to the protection of said legend. They were allowed LESS leash than 85% of ALL other offensive lineman in the league. Like Peyton in Indy or Brady in NE (to a lesser degree 'cause of Belichick)--HE (Favre) WAS AN ICON AND had the rocket arm, and knowledge (experience). The lineman KNEW that if he got hit a couple of times, somene was going to pay (lose their starting job). I do mean a couple of times (hits) too. There was a hair-trigger on those lineman's status due to his ICONIC stature. The ORGANIZATION WOULD NOT ALLOW ANY mistakes that jeapordized his health or marketability. Other teams in the NFL do not expect big screw ups from their lineman either, but MOST teams in the NFL do not have an ICONIC QB either that is the FACE of that entire region. Lastly, Favre, like Peyton, could make you pay dearly for bringing heat and other teams knew it. He was THE gunslinger--TRUE FAVRE. Rodgers is NEITHER a gunslinger or icon. heck, he NO REAL experience The defensive pass rush heat will be waaaaaay turned up now on him, and he has very LITTLE room for error as explained above.
So, we know the team is not as trusting in Rodgers. We know he is NOT Iconic (god like). We know he IS not the face of that region. We know that he is a rookie in most regards. We know he has little leash in terms of not managing the game well, 'cause WE ALL KNOW he will not be allowed to lead yet. We know he is replacing a legend. AND WE ALL KNOW he plays the most important position in ALL of sports.
Are you getting it yet?
I bottom lined it for ya a couple of days ago and you still keep coming back for more.
I keep saying it, because it is the most relevant and important factor out there in terms of the success/failure of the Green Bay Packers this 2008 season.
Favre is gone.

Pope, you're just an idiot.
thanks, you made my point. (08 Grant and Rodgers) is it the Packers fault these two guys are still in their rookie contract?? Should they cut Grant and go pay for a more expensive RB. What a stupid, foolish point you try to make. Rodgers was drafted in the first round to take over for Favre, they're not going to go out and sign a free agent starting QB when they've had Favre's successor waiting for 3 years. They don't need to spend at those two positions right now so, they are not being cheap. Eagles NEED WR's but are not willing to pay for them so they ARE cheap. When you're not willing to pay for a necessity YOU ARE CHEAP!!
What's gonna happen when Trent Cole wants Derrick Burgess money??? I'll tell you what: They will let him walk, then they will find two average lineman to split time for minimum wage. how do I know that? Because that's what they did when Burgess left and Cole has happened to work out. Now they need another end.
You don't have a point dude, you never do. You just type sentences and then say get my point?

Eagle_Pathetic,
That's funny, I thought Favre was a pill poppin, beer swilling, over-rated junkie. Now he's an icon that was so intimidating that WR's wouldn't dare drop balls and linemen wouldn't dare give up a sack. Well..... Which one is it??
I'm glad that you have such an amazing insight into football that you know how these guys are going to perform without Favre. I never really thought of it like you do but I guess that makes a lot of sense. The WR's will no longer remember how to catch a football (will they remember how to run?). And the lineman will completely forget everything they've ever known about blocking technique leaving Aaron Rodgers to fend for himself.
Wow, that makes so much sense to me now!! Thanks. I don't know how the 49ers ever managed to win a superbowl after the icon Montana left.

Hey RC...
I see you took an opening and added your two cents...or .02 cents in this case. Nobody's using your thread to talk about the Panthers anymore. That's how insignificant your team really is...The Packer fan has taken over the retarded comments department and pope, montanna and eagle_phanatic (appologies to others that I forgot) are focusing their aggression towards him. You and your pointless NFC South team have been completely forgotten and sent back down to obscurity where you both belong.
In other words...go home. And GO BIRDS!!!

Bishopshuice,
Didn't he (Trent Cole) just sign a 5 year extension? Yep, they signed him to a new contract 1.5 years ago. It's nearly identical to the deal Lito Sheppard received 3 years ago and still has two years left on. Hows that deal working out for the Birds?? Jared Allen is making three times as much as Cole...somethings got to give.
I just realized Burgess only signed a 5 year 17.5 million dollar deal. I thought he got ridiculous Al Davis money. Wow, the Eagles are cheaper than I thought!! He's gonna make 2 mil. a season for the next 2 years and he's averaging 13 sacks/yr since joining the Raiders.
