Ho-ho-ho! What did the Lakers get for Christmas this year?
COMPLETELY LOBSIDED OFFICIATING IN THEIR FAVOR AT HOME!
Look at the free-throw attempts differential they have a HUGE difference, and many of those are garbage phantom calls. A couple examples were near the end of game 5 where Harpring gets called for a foul on Luke Walton when he obviously didn't come close to touching him, or when Lamar Odom gets a free drunk and his jersey barely touches a Jazz player's skin so that he gets an And 1 call. Or when the game was on the line and Pau Gasol blatantly shoves Mehmet Okur out of the way for a rebound which he dunks to pretty much put the game away.
I won't even get into the rape that is being pulled on Utah on their end. Almost every time they go to the hoop they are getting hacked constantly and get calls only about half of the time, yet Odom gets an obvious And 1 phantom call.
Somebody care to explain the disparity in the calls between the two at the Staples Center?

I won't even mention how Kobe Bryant got away with grabbing J.R. Smith to steal a ball and then running into Nene and somehow giving him a foul... oh wait I just did... but that one was in Denver so I can't really use that for my Staples Center argument... maybe the NBA just wants to see Celtics vs. Lakers at all costs! Conspiracy!
(Disclaimer: the conspiracy comment was in good fun, not serious)

The Jazz are much more physical than the Lakers -
They have 32 more offensive rebounds and in specific, 30 more at Staples Center to show for that.
This has been a well officiated series. By focusing on numerical discrepancies you lose out on the beauty of the games. This has been a great series, hard fought and each game was won by the team that played better.
Don't be lame, this series has been great and by bringing up a (non-existent) conspiracy theory you belittle it.

I said the conspiracy theory comment was a joke, you clown. Anyway, back to the subject... I know the Jazz play hard and physical, but the referrees decided the outcome of that game by giving completely lobsided calls in one direction for the last few minutes of that game. Pau Gasol's freebie was the icing on the cake.

The Jazz play a very physical game and foul just about more than any other team. That and the fact that the Lakers have Kobe and the Lakers pose some mis-matches. Neither Okur or Boozer have the athleticism to guard Odom. If Boozer were more physical and played with his back to the basket more than maybe that would draw more foul calls. On top of that they are settling for alot more jump shots as well rather than being aggressive. I am sure if the Jazz had a Center that actually played down low instead of behind the three point line that may help out the foul cause as well. There were alot of fouls called in the last minute or so to send the Lakers to the line when the Jazz were just trying to stop the clock. I think the officiating has been ok, there were questionable calls on both sides throughout the series, but it happens every game, no matter who plays. I would like to see less ticky-tack fouls and let them play more personally. Don't even get me started on teh Denver series, all I have to say is Denver was never even close, except in game 4. Officiating couldn't help the Nuggets stop the Lakers

I wasn't talking about that conspiracy theory, sweetheart. I was referring to the rather oblique overtones of suggesting that a free throw discrepancy has been arrived at by means other than fair officiating.

yeah, so it goes. Because let me tell you, I'm going to lose a lot of sleep over my reputation changing.
I do find it a bit insulting that cbs does nothing for basketball fans (not 1 article on anything that has occurred int he playoffs yet) then slaps at the wrists of two major posters for pot talk.
Way to go guys, I still smoke pot and I still like to talk about basketball.

All we get is an article from one of the "NFL heads" about how bad the playoffs are. WTF is that bs.
Whatever, I'll stay smokin, I have my life straight so theres no problems over here.
