Nature vs. Nurture argument. You'll never get anywhere with that. Reason is a natural capacity which is developped through nurture. But the capacity to reason is not learned, it is naturally given.

Obviously you weren't reading when I said that it was an humerous analogy and was not meant in any way to be serious.

Let me clarify for the simpleton. Different on the outside pertains to physical differences, the inside being the spiritual and the intellectual. On the inside we are all the same. We all have a soul and a consciousness. We all differ in our physical stature and physical abilities.

Again, clarifications for the simple minded.

Blacks and Whites may differ physically. That means that we all have different physical traits, no matter what the race.

Gays may differ physically from straights. That means that they have different physical traits, no matter their sexual orientation.

There are tall gays, short gays, fat gays, buff gays... etc.

And no, Christianity is not what denies people their rights. Fanatics and Bigots are responsible for that, but do not blame a religion which encourages tolerance and love for ones neighbor for the wrongs that are committed by people who misconstrue its words. Not once have I said that it is my position, nor the position of my religion that gays should be denied the rights that we have as straight people. I have said in pretty much every post that they are entitled to the same rights when it comes to their taxes, social benefits etc.

They just can't get married. That's all i'm saying.

They can have their civil partnership or whatever the hell it's called, and they should give that partnership the same legal rights as a marriage has, but it is not a marriage, and that's the problem that I have with the whole thing.

 Hey....now all the priests can conduct marriages for all their former alterboys!

 Where does this decision leave transexuals though?

Which would explain why all the great theologians spend their life studying.  Just admit you preach from your soapbox, but don't even understand half of what you are talking about.  To have something in your heart requires you to learn about it, and not just repeat like a puppett.  You can't love something because someont tells you too.  It's sad that what you claim to love most, and preach to others about, I seem to have spent more time with.  Some devotion you have ,and you tried to tell me I don't know much.  What a complete joke.

Sorry, I made the mistake of actually learning about what I believed.  How foolish.  I couldn't go on living a life of slave morality and hatred.

No but it does mean that all, or all but one, have the wrong words.

Since it was used as a reason to withhold rights from others.  I didn't bring it up, I responded to it.

Neither the US nor any state constitution says anywhere in them that homsexuals have  a right to get married.  It doesn't ban them either.  To me that implies that when these constitutions, when created, never envisioned that America would get to a point where dudes would want to marry another dude.  Hell, people were killed for adultry back in the day.  I believe our founding fathers were believers in the Almighty, and multiple evidence proves that ( will supply if needed ), and wanted the citizens of this nation to be free of the persecution from the church/government.  Thats one reason they left England.  Being the words seperation of church and state don't appear in the constitution, I won't recognize it.  I believe that liberal judges have legistated from the bench and have distorted the meaning of that amendment.  However, when the majority vote against something, it used to mean something, now it doesn't.  I have no problem leaving these decisions up to individual states, but it should be left up to the voters, not the activists that sit on the benches because most have been corrupted, in my opinion.  Here in Florida, a state constitutional ban amandment banning gay marriage will be on the Novemeber ballot, which is how it should be.  I hope it passes personally. 

I do find it hilarious those who call people who don't agree with gay marriage or homosexuality in genaral bigots and homophobes, etc...  I seriously laugh.

We will all answer to God one day so it really doesn't matter what you think or even I, God has already deemed it immoral and an abomination.  Read Romans cpt 1.

If, as you have implied, the Bible must be taken as a literal interpretation of God's word, I'll need your help in clarifying a few other passages for me:

Exodus 21:7. "If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do."  
Since I am allowed to sell my daughter into slavery, how do I determine what a good price might be?

Exodus 35:2.  "For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a sabbath of complete rest to the LORD; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death."
My Dad washed the car on Sunday; do I have to kill him myself, or can I call the police to handle that?  Also, should athletes who play games on Sunday (earning a paycheck, hence "working") be killed?

Leviticus 15:19.  "When a woman has a discharge, if her discharge in her body is blood, she shall continue in her menstrual impurity for seven days; and whoever touches her shall be unclean until evening."
I don't want to be "unclean."  Should I ask a woman if it's "that time of the month" before I shake her hand?

Leviticus 25:44.  "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves."
Would you recommend buying slaves from the Canadians or the Mexicans...?

Also, my wife planted two crops side by side -- do our neighbors have to stone her, or is a less severe punishment okay?  Oh, and my Mom made me a nice sweater, but it was made with two different threads -- when I burn her to death can it be in a small family gathering or does it have to be a larger community affair?
