Wow broncos4ever.  Backing up your "It's just not normal" argument with "have fun at the gay bar"

I'll bet you graduated with honors.  It's time to get out of your small town.  There's a whole world out there!  As much as you may not like it, it's full of very different people too, every one of them just trying to live however they like.

Maybe all the Minnesotans will finally move to CA now.

Josh, I live in Los Angeles and an a CPA, making a very nice salary thank you very much. I agree, that was probably uncalled for, but your redneck comment was as well, so get over it.

Here's why this thing is so ridiculous, no matter which side of it you're on, the people of California, which by the way is easily the most liberal state on the planet, OVERWHELMINGLY VOTED AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE 8 YEARS AGO! For the court to impose it's will over the MAJORITY goes against everything this country stands for. Can we at least agree on that?

No, actually, it doesn't.  You know, that's the whole point of appellate courts.  To keep 'mob rule' in check.  If you have a problem with that, I suggest you take it up with John Marshall.

Not everything the country stands for. Congress was made bicameral with a house of representatives and senate to try to give the little people a voice in congress so that the majority couldn't dominate the minority.

The majority was against interracial marriage a while back too.  Does that make that right?

A couple things I'd like clarification on.

1.  I am not gay.  I love women.  The thought of being with another guy has never even crossed my mind.  In fact, it grosses me out.  It was never a choice for me to be this way, there was never even a thought of it.  If people really think it is a choice, does that mean they've had to make a decision?  Doesn't that mean they've had homosexual thoughts themselves?

2.  Do you really think legalizing it will lead to nothing but gay marriages and the death of population?

Maybe I'm off on these things, but that's what I read out of your first post.  Correct away.

OK araker, I guess we should just forget voting for president too, since the Supreme Court is smarter than everyone else. It's all good though, the California constitution will be amended in November, and then the idiot judges can't do anything about it.

Gay people should have the right to pursue happiness and not be discriminated against. My brother is gay and he and his partner are great guys who deserve first class citizenship.

That sounds like the same argument that bigots used decades ago against interracial marriage. Because it is, it's exactly the same. People who want to suppress gay people today are the same idiots who wanted to suppress black people 50 years ago, and people who suppress women 100 years ago. They'll learn, if not their children will learn eventually
