"That's ironic considering I have ESPN ranked # 29 on my list of the top 32 most reputable sources for accurate sports information. Just above Nikelodean,  MTV and The Cooking channel. "

Swarm...you get 5 stars for that comment...I'm laughing my ass off, also your on my favorite list!

Thanks! ESPN used to be the bomb but now the show is full of diva's imo. Just a bunch of talking heads trying to get themselves over. It used to be the opinions you got from the cast at ESPN meant something...that just isn't the case anymore and hasn't been for years. I can't remember the last time I took anything they said seriously. They suck. 9/10 times I watch the show on mute.

and the Lions were lucky to win that game because they were dominated in every aspect of the game, except final score.  sometimes yes, there is luck involved in a win, and that was one

Anyone who has followed the Lions for more than 5 or 6 years, (25+ myself), knows that is where they belong.  I bought into the hype last year because I thought that was going to be a good team.  Guess what, they aren't that good.  They're okay, but they're still miles away from being a playoff winning team.  If they improve by 1 win, that will be a huge step for them after last years giant collapse.

As for some people saying that they are better than Cleveland or the Jets or the Titans!!!????  I have to laugh out loud at my computer at lunch, with people looking at me like a whack-job!  That is ludicrous.   The Bucs are worse?  Didn't they make the playoffs?  Probably the only team they have ranked higher than them that isn't, is Denver and that's because they owned them last year.

Look, this is a franchise that had arguably one of the best running backs to ever play the game, and they couldn't build it correctly around him.  Then forced him to retire about 3 years too soon because he got burnt out on football.  This is a joke of a franchise, and will be until they have a real owner.

Now lets have all the Lion purists write and tell me what I said wrong, and how everything is different this year.

Tom Brady was talking about how Spygate got blown up by ESPN and he said ESPN is MTV with highlights.  It's so true!!!

1298, The Lions played well early in the season when we had a basically weak schedule.  When the schedule got harder, the losses started piling up.  BUT if you look at it at seasons end, we beat teams that we had a better record than and lost to teams with a better record for the most part.  And factoring in our 7-9 record do you know what that means?  That means we were mediocre and don't deserve to be listed so close to the bottom of these rankings.

As far as being better than the Jets, why is that so funny?  The Jets were horrid last year, the year before was an anomaly, and they made some good moves this off season that may or may not pan out.  Why not feel we are better than them?  and yes the Bucs made the playoffs but we would have made the playoffs too if we got to play last years Atlanta, Carolina and NO teams TWICE!!!

And what on Earth does Barry Sanders have to do with these power rankings?

I agree completely with your assessment U of M 1298....I get so angry with the Bear management with some of their bone-headed mis-steps, but those pale in comparison to the foul ups time and time again from the Lion front office.  I thought it was crazy how a team could have a player so dominating and really do nothing..I mean those Sanders-led teams made the playoffs a couple of times, but it was always 1 and done.  And then to be as bad as they've been the last 7 years in a league like the NFL where there should be no excuse to not have a team rebuilt within 3 years...it's a real test of the resolve of their fans!!
