stop with the "lets get 1" and "we had a good run" talk. There's still some hockey to be played and while it's unlikely we will win, a lot crazier things have happened. Stop with the negativity and giving up. It's not baseball season yet...
I agree. They need to just go in and play their game. Didn't the Flyers come back from down 3-1 against the Oilers in the '87 Stanley Cup Finals? The Oilers were by far the best team that year, and probably should have swept the Flyers, but they played one game at a time and got to a game seven, and lost it late in the 3rd period. Anything is possible. You have to look at it as not that we have to win four in a row, but just win four one game series. It isn't likely that it will happen, but not entirely inpossible the Flyers could still make a series out of this. Either way, Pittsburgh has no shot of beating Detroit if they get there. Detriot wins in 5 games if that happens.
One game at a time, yes indeed. The Penguins have been untested thus far but have shown resilience to play any of the styles of the east conference and win. The Flyers fortunately had the first two rounds of two teams with lack of depth and both played similiar style. The Flyers obviously aren't as deep as the Pens with their injuries and it's showing. The Penguins don't seem as dominant as Buffalo was the last couple years and since they failed to win the cup. the Penguins should be heavy underdogs in the finals. The Flyers just have a past reputation of of let's say Villanova basketball and people seem to get the impression that if the Flyers ever get any luck they can nail down a series and opponent, although they are true to the reputation they rarely ever have the depth and players to finish the job, sadly. Dallas Stars called their win last night "an avoidance of humiliation" but if the Flyers lose tonight, I don't feel the Flyers have been humiliated. Since the FO is aggressive in finding players to play for the Flyers they'll fix the areas that need it and be back stronger next season. The Penguins, however, have so many free agents upcoming that it's hard to see them getting this far next season. If the Flyers can win tonight, they could actually realistically can tie the series with two more solid efforts. So, as with any climb of a steep mountain, you have to hope for a break here and there, to take a ledge. Go Flyers, if you don't win, there is no shame.
I would not bet anything valuable that Detroit will smoke the Pens. The Pens have the skilled players and the speed to match them. Should be a close series that could go either way. BROOM TIME TONIGHT
That was the Flyers team I expected LAST game, not now. Come back from 3-0 is next to impossible, but it CAN be done. Had the team that took the ice on Tuesday this could have been a whole different series. Pens are too deep and too good to lose a 3-0 lead. I figured at the beginning Pens in 5, and Ill stick with that, but as I said, I expected the Flyers to win game 3
