Here is a recent article dated May 2:
A couple of month ago when Josh Jarboe was charged with a felony of having a concealed weapon on his high school campus, you had to figure his days as an University of Oklahoma football player were never going to happen. That may be changing.
Jarboe was one of the biggest catches in Bob Stoops’ recent recruiting class. He was recruited by many of the big boys of college football. This Ellenwood, Ga. native is a big receiver with blazing speed. He was a player that the OU coaches thought could come in and contribuite immediately.
That was until he got into trouble.
“He’s a gifted receiver. He’s big and fast. But he has to work some things out,” said Sooner receiver coach Jay Norvell.
Yeah, the things that he has to work out is getting that felony charge dropped. Jarboe claims it wasn’t his gun that was in the car at the high school. He says he didn’t know it was there.
Well, there are many that are saying now that the charges will be dropped, maybe sometime by mid-June. If that does happen it appears he will make it to Norman this summer.
But this gifted 6-3, 195-pounder still has some academic hurdles to clear. He was suspended from high school, but is currently finishing up his classes on the internet. He is one point shy of qualifying on his ACT score.
If Jarboe does get to Oklahoma, he will be a great asset for the Sooners. He might be able to take up some of the slack for Malcolm Kelly’s departure. He has a lot of potenial. The key now is for him to steer anyway from any type of trouble.

Thanks for the info krazihorse, if all this does get cleared up, I look forward to seeing this kid playing for the Sooners.
I know these seem like some serious charges, and there does seem to be other things that he needs to take care of, but man what a talent. I for one have done plenty of things in my life that I am glad didn't end up on the front page of the papers. I also never had a gun at my HS or anybody elses HS for that matter. Now college was a different story, but if you ever had to leave the USC campus at sundown you would totally understand.
Lets hope this all gets cleared up, and this process helps the young Mr. Jarboe pull his head out of his colon and get down to business. Good luck Josh, and please don't go riding around in a yellow geo, that should be a crime all by itself.
BOOMER SOONER!

Looks like it was a little more than "I didn't know there was a gun in my car."
I would be amazed if he makes it past his Sophomore year!!
"Oklahoma Sooners signee Josh Jarboe was arrested Thursday evening for receiving stolen property and having a weapon on school property — both felony charges for one of the nation’s top college recruits.
Online jail records show Jarboe, 18, was booked into the DeKalb County Jail along with 17-year-old James Davis, who was charged with the same two counts. Both were arrested by DeKalb school system police officers.
The school system has not released any information about the arrests or about the two young men. A spokesman said that the police report — a public document — was not yet complete.
Jarboe, a standout wide receiver from Cedar Grove High School, is ranked by Rivals.com as the 10th-best wide receiver nationally in the Class of 2008. He committed last month to play for Oklahoma, choosing the Sooners over Florida, Georgia and LSU.
In addition to the felony charges, Jarboe also could face expulsion from school under DeKalb schools policy."

Thanks for the article KRAZIHORZ. Obviously he has some hurdles to clear other than his legal ones, but if the school district is allowing him to complete his courses online so he is able to graduate then something positive has to be cooking behind the scenes so to speak. I wanna believe the kid was in the wrong place at the wrong time and I personally know that my eyesight isn't good enough to spot something going on in a car 200 yards away, but obviously if he screws up again there is a pattern that needs to be addressed. Anyway, thanks for all the info guys! Boomer Sooner!
