Jose Guillen and his fiery leadership. The Mariners have absolutely noone on their team who step up and demand that the other players be accountable. The Mariners clearly over-achieved last year and Guillen is a major reason why. Forget his trouble making ways in Anahiem, Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh. He still speaks his mind, but now days he does it in a productive way rather than a detrimental way.

Now that Guillen's bat is finally hot, he will put his thumb print on the Royals team and they will finish .500 or better.

Ken Griffey jr. can be your team leader when he gets there later in the season.   Why dismiss the Mariners so early in the season blade?  They'll get better,  the A's will get worse.  Watch...

True, the Mariners will get better and the A's will get worse. However, the A's will still be much better than ex[pected and the Mariners will be much worse than expected.

And Junior has never been a leader. The good Mariner teams that Griffey played on were lead by Jay Buhner, Lou Piniella and Norm Charlton. Junior is too into playing 'victim' to ever be a good leader.

Gil Meche?

Guillen is heating up and the Royals have won 5 straight.

1/2 game under .500
