LSU and Bama have had 6 close games in the last 10 they have played. LSU has come out on top more, but cleary has not dominated. In the 2004 game LSU won 26-10, but the game was 19-10 with 5 minutes to go in the 4th. In 05, 16-13 in OT. In 06 LSU was only up 21-14 at the half and only managed one more score the whole game to win 28-14. And this years game we needed an outstanding play from a superstar freshman to win a very tight game. Perhaps without injuries we would have handled them easier, but thats something we will never know. Fact is we survived a game against a team that will be stocked up again this year and we have lost a little fire power to boot and will start a 1st year QB. It would seem to me this game will be up for grabs again this year and the edge might even tilt to Bama with the more seasoned QB. Sorry, but reality is Bama was never really as bad as people won't to pretend.
They lost to Georgia by 3, lost to Florida St by 7, crushed Tenn by 24, almost beat us, and lost to Aub by 7. I know the games against ULL and Miss St look bad, but the others games suggest this team is ready for a breakout year. They did win their bowl game and still have a chip on thier shoulder. I think Aub will be the team to beat in the West and LSU and Bama will be right there trying to knock them out.
