is. Notre Dame is finally joining the Big Ten in all sports. Memphis is replacing Notre Dame, therefore, when the Big East officials say they arent expanding, their being truthful.

I do believe that the Memphis-to-the-Big East talk is serious, and that it's going to happen. However, I seriously doubt that the Big East is going to dump Notre Dame's basketball team. Having it gives them an in as far as eventually getting Notre Dame as a full member goes. It's more likely that the BE will kick out one of the smaller basketball-only schools.

No link, I just know that ECU is trying to get into the fray when the Big East adds Memphis, thats why you have heard the reports about ECU as a football only member and Memphis as a full member.
No one from the Big Ten or ND has said anything, which doesnt surprise me, most knew that when it happened, it would be a surprise.

hahahaha i hope u do know that it isn't april fool's day...ND will never join the Big Ten cuz they won't let ND in without the football team...and with the TV and scheduling contracts already locked up for years, not to mention the donors going insane over tradition, ND football will never join a conference

Somebody asked about these reports with ECU and Memphis and I'm giving you the answer. If it was public, you'd already know the answer. Nobody at ND or the Big Ten is talking right now.
I like the ND fan who thinks they'll never join. I'm sure the money they are losing out on since they have no more big time payouts since they got blown out by Oregon State in the Fiesta doesnt have anything to do with conference affiliation.
Playing Stanford, Duke, and Navy does not a program make, playing for a Big Ten title and a shot at the Rose Bowl in a championship game in Chicago, now that should excite you as a ND fan.
Timing is right this time and the Big East is moving on...finally.

I cant say anything for sure about whats going to happen. However, I can atleast confirm that Hillbilly is not making any of this up. The rumors flying around Memphis backs up exactly what hillbilly has said. Granted these are just rumors. However, it has been reported on a local Memphis station that the U of M is discussing its future with conference USA and that RC Johnson (athletic director) has been in extensive talks with the Big East. They say nothing will be announced untill Johnson gets back in town.
