anddd... I'd rather have Parker and Mendenhall over Lewis and I'd rather have Miller over Kfed I mean K2 or whatever you call him... But I'd rather the Browns beat the Steelers 10 out of 10 times unless the Steelers can put the Bengals in the Playoffs with a win over the Browns..

Have a great weekend again to all!

GO REDS!

Hey everyone just checking in I havent been here for a while. I didnt read everything I missed, because well theres just too much. But I did catch mano saying I have a weak arm, which we all discuss and have 4 pages of posts on. And yes me and mano go way back. Also, our "snapper" is better than any "snapper "coming from Pittsburgh Im sure. Winslow is the man. You can keep Miller. (although he was on my fantasy team this year!) And basically Go Browns.

Oh I actually agree with DK about something. Boondock Saints is an AWESOME movie. Check it out and of course my motto......OTWT

Mano – I’m shocked. You didn’t bring up Hoya’s website. It has Davenport with a substantially higher DPAR than Parker. However I think Parker is an immeasurably better back. If you look at Parker and Lewis’ stats during the last 4 years they are remarkably close. Of course the Steelers during that time has put more emphasis on the run vice the Ravens where Lewis has spent that last 3 of 4 years.  Parker is the shiftier runner, whereas Lewis though shifty in his own right is considered more of a power back. Both hit the hole in a dead heat.  IMO Lewis and Bettis are similar style and ability runners. Both may actually make it to the HOF.  Parker though a good back is no where near Bettis or Lewis,  especially when viewed from a career longevity/productivity viewpoint. Do you honestly think that Parker’s frame could hold up to the NFL pounding for 5 more years and be as good as Jamal is? He’s already showing signs of wear.  Jamal has withstood all that and is still one of the top rushers in the league.  That’s why I think the Steelers picked Mendenhall. Mendenhall could easily bulk up to 225lbs and be your future Bettis. Parker on the other hand I believe could be either the #2 back or be gone in 2-3 years.   As for longsnapper, I think Warren could give Pontbriand a run for his money and could eventually be one of the tops in the league. However he only has two years as a body of work. Pointbriand has 5years with the same degree of perfection and clearly has had more work, basically because the Browns have had poor teams and were punting frequently.  He’s as reliable and automatic a they come.

Mano, to be completely honest, I remember Warren snapping one directly into someone's leg (perhaps Morey) in punt formation during a MNF game a few years back.  Miscommunication as Morey, lined up behind the line as a free blocker, was calling signals to the cover guys out wide and he stepped into the path of the snap right as Warren sent it back.  I think the Steelers had to just dive on the ball and turn it over on downs.  JV stuff like that keeps you on the mainland for the weekend after the Super Bowl.

dawgdaze, I'll be your huckleberry:

QB - Ben.

RB - Tough call, at least if you're considering both guys over their entire career.  It's tough to compare such different styles (refer to the Miller/K2 debates), but I'd pick Parker.  Lewis was an absolute force with Baltimore in years past, but he doesn't have any breakaway speed (except against Browns DBs) and really needs the line to open enough of a hole for him to gain momentum, otherwise he's easy to bring down in the backfield.  Parker's stats are overrated (he had a ton of carries last two seasons), but he's still underrated as a runner (if that's possible).  He's tougher than many assume and can be an every-down and goalline back.  At this point in both of their careers, I'd definitely take Parker.

FB - You can make a strong argument for Dan Kreider over Vickers, but it's tough to rate FBs.  Since most of their impact is displayed in team running stats (neither is a rushing/receiving threat himself), you'd have to pick Kreider over Vickers by virtue of the Steelers consistently putting up top 5 rushing numbers and Cleveland typically being in the 20s in team rushing (although #10 last season, so improving).

WR - I'll give you Edwards and Ward (though you can make an argument to replace Ward with San Antonio, but Ward compliments a WR like Edwards better).

TE - I don't think we need to touch this debate again -- it comes down to personal preference.  If you prefer good fantasy numbers from a prima donna who holds out of offseason practices, you go with K2.  If you prefer an unselfish, dedicated, efficient TE and prefer winning games in general, you go with Miller.  ;)

OL - I'll admit that I'm not an O-line aficianado, but Thomas, Steinbach and Fraley are pretty solid.  I don't know a thing about Tucker.  The Steelers line has been changing, so I can understand only having 1 or 2 reps from Pittsburgh coming into this season.  As far as our best guy, though, I'd take Marvel Smith over Willie Colon in a heartbeat...and Smith has experience at RT, if you want to keep this "team" locked in by true position.

Defense - No major arguments here -- even though I'm not sold on Rogers just yet, I don't know that Diesel Keisel (as much as I love the guy) would replace him.  I guarantee you that I wouldn't put Anthony Smith above any guy on your list.

Longsnapper - Nice try.  Warren.

Have a great weekend everyone -- remember, only 16 more weeks until we can actually back up this talk with hard data!
