We’re heading to Georgia this week for the AT&T Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth. Par 72, 7,293 yards, $990,000 to the winner. (These guys are still willing to play for less than a million?) We’re looking at a fast, firm layout thanks to the ongoing drought conditions, what the talking heads are calling a “Florida layout.” Cool lefty note—Bob Charles, the first winner of this tournament 40 years ago, will be on hand to hit the ceremonial first drive before Wednesday’s Pro-Am.
My predictions in a moment, but first, a quick bit of taking stock. Lefty Links historians may already know this, but for the rest of you, I’ve run the numbers to see how I’ve been doing so far with my picks. I began on Feb. 24 with the Mayakoba Golf Classic—so it’s been 12 tournaments, 100 total golfer picks (I began with 6 picks per tournament, then moved to my current 10.):
67% made the cut (which includes one MDF—Vaughn Taylor, you bastard)
28% missed the cut
5% withdrawals
19% top-ten finishes
5 winners, with current streak of last 4 winners in a row
So, for what it’s worth, there it is. Make of it what you will. And now, on to my current predictions. For my ten players to watch this week at the AT&T Classic, please see www.leftylinks.com/blog. Thank you!

I haven't been very good at this picking thing. This week I have picked, Baird, K. Perry, Goyods, Browne(Olin), and Parnevik. And I just read where Parnevik has withdrawn. I read your blog. Interesting.

I was torn betwen two lineups. But in the end I just had to include Cink, Zach Johnson, and Briny Baird (double B) in my lineup cuz I think they are the three most likely to win. This meant a roster salary of 45k short of the limit. I almost went with a more consistent lineup that used the full salary. My roster fillers for the week are Joe Ogilvie and Jon Mills. It was tough to find good roster fillers this week.

Interesting blog.
My picks this week are as follows:
Stewart Cink, Zach Johnson, Ben Crane, Kevin Stadler, & Brett Quigley!
But I do not see Crane in the mix, did he WD? I hope not because I liked him to win it actually!
I missed the first 4 weeks, but even then I am 2235 overall, and only that high after tanking last week with a weekly 17362 finish.

Good picks. Mine were Stewart Cink, Baird, Brett Quigley, N. Thomphson, and Crane. I also wonder what happended to Crane? No one is reporting anything on him.

Oh man...that stinks...did they say how long he will be out?
I have him on a fantasy golf team where we can't add/drop players.
I was actually looking forward to him having a good round after his performance in the Players at Sawgrass...

They didn't indicate how much time he would miss. They said he had aggravated his back or he didn't want to aggravate it. His back supposedly had been bothering him for little while. I guess the TPC Players tournament checks are easier to play through the pain than the At&t's?
