Give Kylie a shot he really cant be any worse than Interceptaurus Rex. He;s not likely to do anything spectacular but he seems to know how to manage the ball. Maybe if they stopped 'running as soon as we get off the bus' they'd have more energy to actual play on both sides of the ball for 60 minutes. That cant be good for you running around everywhere

First of all the Bears have decent recievers. Rashied Davis is a guy who is young but has a lot of experience and good hands, Mark Bradley has been slowed by injuries but when he is healthy he is a major playmaker, Devin Hester is by far the greatest weapon a team can have outside of L.T. and Brian Westbrook. Hester isn't even a reciever he is an offensive specialist he is one of those guys college teams list simply as an athlete because you can put him anywhere and give him time to learn and he will perform well. He will come in on offense and line up everywhere he can to create match up issues for the defense. I think they should use him primarily out of the backfield simply because he would be unstoppable with a running start to the line of scrimage. He will energize this offense. Marty Booker isn't a number one guy he may even be a number 3 reciever but he has good hands and is smart. He may have lost a few steps but he can still catch the ball over the middle. Brandon Lloyd is a hit or miss signing, either he gives you the Brandon Lloyd that was with the 49ers early in his career, 105 receptions, 1510 yards, and 13 touchdowns with only 29 starts. Since he got to the Redskins he caught 25 passes, 379 yards, and 0 touchdowns. If he can even perform half as well as he did with the 49ers the Bears get a good player for cheap to team up with 4 other servicable recievers and like I said in my previous post, with Chris Williams being drafted John Tait moves back to right tackle where he is more natural shoring up two positions that are of great importance. If the line improves over last season and Benson, Fortay, Wolfe, and Peterson can give this team a decent running game they will be in good shape. This whole team hinges on Grossman or Orten whoever can play with less mistakes. They aren't being asked to win games but simply not to lose games which shouldn't be hard.

Bears need a consistent running game and keep either QB on a short lease or limited playbook. That will allow either to get in some rhythm early in the game and boost their confidence. It doesn't solve a 4th quarter dilemma if the Bears are behind and need a few big plays from their passing game. Grossman has the stronger arm and Orton is the more accurate passer.
Rex Grossman still hasn't adapted to the NFL game and takes too many gambles where there isn't much chance of success. Plus he has a tendency to have tunnel-vision or focuses on the primary receiver, not to mention under throwing passes that are easily picked off and is often not on the same page with his receivers. Rex has talent, but someone needs to work with him to recognize defenses and when to check down or throw the ball away.
Kyle Orton, for whatever reason, hasn't gained the confidence of the coaches that he can do the job. It might be the system he's in, where he's asked to manage the game with minimal mistakes instead of using his talents to win games. Orton might be better suited for a 'West Coast offense' or 'Mike Martz offense', basically in timing sync with the receivers, where you are throwing to open areas or spots on the field. The knock against Orton is that the blockers have to give him a second or two more and that's not going to happen on a consistent basis in the NFL.
It's going to come down to Lovie Smith's offense and making adjustments during the game to be more efficient, less predictable, and keep the Bears defense off the field and well rested.

I have to disagree, Dimmn, as far as Rex in the Super Bowl. He fumbled twice (losing one) on mishandled snaps, one while on the Colts' 40 or so. When getting pressured, he retreated, unnecessarily giving up yardage. His two interceptions came at crucial times in the game. Yes, the defense played poorly, but not too poorly (Remember who was the quarterback for the other team). Rex had a chance to make a difference, and he didn't come through.

If Rex Grossman had Kyle Orten's poise and intelligence, then the Bears would have their QB. The fact is, Grossman has the talent and the arm, but little else and Orten has little talent, no arm, and everything else. They should climb into a genetic blender and form a super-QB. That's what I say. Ahhh, what the crap, throw Doug Flutie in the blender too...

The bottom line is if the offensive line play doesn't improve it wont matter which QB starts they won't do well. Personally, I'm pulling for Orton but my guess is that Lovie will end up going with Rex. Eitherway, if the line doesn't improve we'll be seeing both of them and the third string. Also, keep an eye on who Tampa Bay cuts because they have a stable of QB's.

Dont forget to mention the running game did nothing to help Grossman in that super bowl. We all came into that SB knowing the Bears would have to run the ball effectively if Grossman were going to have a good game and they didnt. Jones had a good stat line, but only because he broke one long run in the first half...other than that he didnt do much of anything. Much of the problem was Chicago's play calling. They only rushed the ball 19 times and the running game was the backbone o fthe the offense all season. Not a good strategy.

Ok Dimm. I live in Indianapolis and the Bears are on FOX just about every week so I see a lot of Bears' games over the course of a season. Also, I am a huge Purdue fan so I have seen Orton play a ton. Second of all, the reason Orton is superior to Grossman is the fact that Orton doesn't turn the ball over while Rex is a turnover waiting to happen.

Hey guys I have been through this so many times now, even on my own board, that it's a vendetta against Rex haters... All of whom seem to never give up either...and in most eyes any and everyone is "better" then Rex...which I think is a crock...Rex had some really bad games, true...but he has had MORE really GOOD games also....and when he plays them into a win and only throws one touchdown- people think of the bad games... when he throws for 3 or 4 touchdowns- people still think of the bad games...kinda like the CUBS...when is the bad going to happen. He has somewhere around 31 starts that's only 2 season... I am now and always will be a REX guy...until he's no longer with the team. Go Bears! Go REX!
