Ok Prisco, now you're just insulting our intellegence.
The Giants are the SB champs and they did have an amazing run through the playoffs, but that was last season man. I know you want to go against the grain and say the Giants are a bit better than the Cowboys but dude...how about going a bit more insane and give the Patriots the # 2 position in the pre-season rankings.
Give us all a break Prisco...stop doing the power rankings. BTW, have a seat next to Freeman knucklehead.
P.S., what do you think Phillips will do because of Garrett...sabotage the team. You live in a fantasy world Prisco.

reedtaz, this really looks like your nit picking. It is not that far of a stretch to have the Pat's ranked 1 (easy schedule) and to have the Giants as best in NFC with the Pokes right behind. Afterall, the Cowboys have a little bit harder schedule and all 3 games they played with the Giants last year were relatively close. With that said, the Cowboys may be the favorites in the NFC, but there still is the Wade Phillips factor. The guy still has to prove that he can lead to win the big ones. Maybe he should give Norv Turner a call.

Way more important than whether Phillips can win the big one is whether Romo can win the big one. He was awful in the second half of the playoff game against the Giants. The pass rush had him totally rattled, and he wasn't even coming close to hitting open receivers at the end of that game. That's 2 playoff appearances, and 2 dreadful games for Romo.
And I don't believe in any sort of a Jessica Simpson jinx, but the guy has been known to completely wilt under the pressure of playing in front of his girlfriend. I think people are way too forgiving of Romo's performance under even the slightest added pressure.
Let's not forget, this is a guy who was never expected to be more than a back-up QB until Parcells took a flyer on him on the heels of a couple of disappointing Bledsoe years, and no other options. He's played his whole career behind a strong O-line with a well above average running game, a Hall of Fame receiver in TO, a top 5 TE in Witten, and excellent 3 and 4 options in Glenn and Crayton. Any half way decent QB can put up big numbers in the regular season in that situation.
In my opinion, Tony Romo at QB = Big problems for Big D.

god i hate it when people sit there and say that Romo is nothing because he has a HOF WR and a top 5 TE and great 3 and 4 options with the other recievers... Thats so much BS. How can you say that when you have guys like Peyton who play with what? a HOF WR a what a Top 5 TE (yes Dallas Clark) always had a great running game with Faulk, James, and now Addai. Plus lets not forget Reggie Wayne. PLEASE STFU.. Thats annoying and yeah the Giants should be ranked one why cuz the won the freakin super bowl thats why.. Not only did they do that they also beat the undefeated team at once. Give me a break this guy cant rank which color is best. he's pathetic with this stuff. anyways back to the subject, Romo will become one of the best QB's in the league he isnt a joke nor a flop he has had two great performances in the past season and a half.. Cant really say much about the dropped ball but it was his first playoff game with alot on the line in the final seconds.. Thats huge for somebody... now last year him and T.O. were both coming off injuries and same w/ Glenn... Get this whole team together for a whole season and people wont even remember the New Cheatland Patriots...

I'm trying not to be a homer guys but I can't help it. To me, the Cowboys are better than the Giants on paper...that's not saying much but this is the offseason/preseason rankings right? The Giants/Cowboys matchup will always be a shootout or a deadlock when fielding two very good teams...but since a down has yet to be played, we should go with the season ending record, immediate draft production potential, and significant offseason moves. I don't know about you guys but the boys excelled in almost every area.
I too was sceptical twitch until I saw the plays within the plays...You should't worry about Tony Romo...he proved he could be counted on. He has a wonderful opportunity in Dallas and since he's viewing the NFL from a different perspective; hard to think that he will piss it all away by not giving his best...and jessica is old booty, no pressure with old booty...Ever...
Really guys, on paper the boys are better... Besides, that crosshair target will shine bright on the G-men this year...get your popcorn ready!

Prisco is a funny guy. He rates the Giants an A for the draft. Rank the Giants number one at the end of 08 season. But some how through a good draft that Prisco admire the Giants for deflated our value and now rank number 3. Its funny how thye say the Patriots did not show up for the game, but the Giants did. We showed up for the whole playoffs. Dont give the Patriots no excuse because if you cant play your best during the superbowl you dont deserve to be on the field. Prico give the Giants they due, we won the superbowl and we deserve to be number 1 on everyone list. All of sudden the Eagles is number 8. What got them to rank so high. McNabb is on the decline. They have no depth at running back and still lack the big play wideout. Prisco your ranking makes no sense. The Chargers beat the Colts and somehow they are worst then Colts. Get real. Get the facts right and stop looking at names and what a team did 3 years ago.

Maybe the reason that Prisco has the Giants are ranked higher than the Cowboys is the fact that Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in 13 seasons....yes...that is correct....13 seasons. Plus the fact that they got beat at home by the Giants who ended up winning the Superbowl.
On paper, Dallas does have a superior team, but these teams play on the field, not on paper. Romo is an excellent QB and he has earned respect. He has won from behind and fought off teams at the end of many games. He has worked very hard to learn the Dallas system and earn the respect of his teammates. This kid just makes plays.
I am a Giants fan, and yes.....I respect the Pats. I am still amazed by what they accomplished last season and probably will always remember this past season as one of the most amazing football seasons ever. The Patriots are going to have another great season, and whether or not they have an easy schedule or not, they are an outstanding team. They can't help that they play in an easy division. The other teams in the league get paid to play too and as all of you have seen throughout the history of the NFL.....any team can win.....on any day, which makes what they did even more miraculous.
Basically...we all know that Prisco is an idiot......that doesn't need to be pointed out. If you read his rankings you should do as I do......use it as entertainment and try to understand what the hell goes through this guy's head when typing this stuff up. He must be hangin' with Sean Salisbury on the weekends....lol.
I am ok with the top 4 in this list, but after that it is a nightmare in my opinion.....
