Pats Cheat......that is just absolutely and totally horrible that they wrote that in blood "America is not at war, the Marines are at war, America is at the mall".....but of course there again is that which I had mentioned before re all is fair in love and war - and it stinks!, ie war is hell.  We have so many who cannot relate to war (of course that is good as it means they never had to experience it - but on the other hand it tends to make people less understanding of sacrifice.

And what better way to insult and undermine than by picking on our way of life and level of quality of life as that bloody message......I read about a woman named Tokeyo (spelling?) Rose who during WWII spewed forth messages thru the radio in attempts to undermine the morale of our military....reminding them that their wifes/girlfriends were back home probably keeping company with those men who were not serving in the military.....and that the enemies were stronger than "the Yanks", etc.

She was an attractive female so her photo was also dropped in leaflets proclaiming the same propaganda.....I believe she was tried for war crimes and served prison time but not positive about the prison time.  Re your question "do you think this society is willing to sacrifice? - I think it will definitely impact the illegal alien problem as they will scatter back across the border......and if we do not have any choice but to sacrifice then that will be the fate we have to face......or be brutalized - or perish.

Yep, war is not everything that you see in the movies with clearly defined sides, tactics or emotions, more of a repeated beating, or at least that is what it felt like to me.

I have heard stories of Tokyo Rose (SP?) but never bothered to find out if they were true.

My point on sacrafice is what if we made war profiteering illegal (I recently heard a democrat went independent to split from the party over this issue), and made the contractors in Iraq post their jobs status and expendatures online (you figure we are paying for it might as well).  It wouldnt take that much seeing how most of them have to do this anyways when they land a large project, its part of the final audit process.  But what if Americans really saw what some companies were making (outside of the obvious oil companies), would we support the war to continue along the same path or would we take a step back and realize the soldiers should earn more?

Ok, my day is over.

NS - hope you stop by again you ask questions that are difficult yet easy to answer.

Pats Cheat......I would think that the only people who could possibly be anti our troops are our enemies.- I am definitely pro our troops......when tv segments show soldiers's photos and their young ages and the young children and other loves ones they have left behind it just hurts my heart....I actually feel each tragedy physically.

Yes, there is a distinction between personal and public opinions re a topic such as war.......from what I have read I am understanding more and more re why they are calling the WWII generation such great Americans......not that we don't have alot of that same level now.....they had gold stars hung in residence and business windows to honor the military....it was as if each soldier was everyone's soldier.....of course the fact that the enemy was clearly defined by country was a major trait of that war......war movies were created to lift spirits and there was definitely no pc factor to dilute the patriotism.

Am sure if we had the media microscope then as now we would have known more of the negatives about the leaders......

A left-wing extremist exhibits many, but not necessarily all, of the following attributes:

--believes the United States is a fundamentally negative force in the world. --believes that American imperialism is the primary cause of Islamic radicalism. --believes that the decision to go to war in Iraq was not possibly a mistake, but rahther a consequence of America’s fundamentally wicked imperialistic nature. --tends to blame America for the failures of others—i.e. the failure of our NATO allies to fulfill their responsibilities in Afghanistan. --doesn’t believe that capitalism, carefully regulated and progressively taxed, is the best liberal idea in human history. --believes American society is fundamentally unfair (as opposed to having unfair aspects that need improvement). --believes that eternal problems like crime and poverty are the primarily the fault of society. --believes that America isn’t really a democracy. --believes that corporations are fundamentally evil. --believes in a corporate conspiracy that controls the world. --is intolerant of good ideas when they come from conservative sources. --dismissively mocks people of faith, especially those who are opposed to abortion and gay marriage. --regularly uses harsh, vulgar, intolerant language to attack moderates or conservatives.

See, to me. . . .speaking as one person, perhaps more typical of actual left wing reflections of Washington. . .if you would just substitute the words "The Bush Cartel" each and every time you refer to "America" or "The United States" in your little diatribe. . . . .you would have my position.

PaPa,

I'm assuming that your electoral map doesn't include the predicted voter turn-out of minority groups and young voters...

Here is a link that shows what that would look like.  I'm assuming that this is why the Republicans are running a typical negative campaign... to try and get voters to stay home.

PaPa,

I also noticed that your "maps" were pulled off of a website named RSRedstate.  LOL!

Nice try.  BTW, my sister-in-law just sent me a picture of an Obama rally she attended... 80,000 turnout in Portland Oregon area!  Th
