but it would be nice to have the games in Atlanta every other year.

Ughhh....I can't think of a city I would like to avoid for a college game more than Atlanta. Tell me one good thing about trying to have fun in Atlanta.

The overpriced food and drinks?
The crime?
The lack of places to congregate?
The cabs that, when they are around, gouge you?
The lack of RV City to party in?
The dumps they call hotels?
The locals that could care less about you and why you are there?

Atlanta may be a big city, but it can't hold a candle to Jacksonville when it comes to hosting a sporting event.

Gatorz,

I am all for holding the game in Jax, but you surely josh comparing that place to Atlanta.  That is funny.  Jax is great for the WLOCP, but that is about it.  And while I am not crazy about a Dome, it is pretty damn intense for both the SEC CG and the Bowl game.

Keep the game in Jax....they need something.  The ACC title game was such a success though.  LOL

It's just tradition, I don't think we should lose it entirely, though I wouldn't be against moving it to every other year, with us playing in Atlanta every other year as well.  Watch the Gators come RUN crying about that possible scenario, which even Richt has mentioned.  They HATE that idea and will all immediately start talking about how much further that is, and Jax is in the middle, blah blah blah whine whine cry.

That's all I need it for.

but you surely josh comparing that place to Atlanta.
I worked for a company in Atlanta and was there a lot. Plus I have been to SEC CG, Falcons game, Braves games, even the Budweiser Flickball Regional Finals. Let's say I am familiar with the area. I for one, don't like it. For a guy in his 20s or 30s, going to a game in Atl can suck. It is expensive. It is crime ridden. Parts of it are pretentious. And there's no place for comraderie.

Jacksonville shuts down for FL/UGA. The locals are friendly, the prices are MUCH more reasonable, there is RV City or the Landing to congregate and have fun, the crime rate is way lower, there is a nice sea breeze....should I go on?

If I wanted to start an import/export air freight business, I would go to Atlanta. But Jacksonville is a much more hospitable place for the best game in college football IMHO.

Jax is great for the WLOCP, but that is about it.
Hey, in the last 5-10 years, a LOT of UF and UGA students have flocked to Jax, making  it one of the fastest growing regional business centers in the country. There are so many skilled educated workers per capita in Jacksonville that they are making huge strides to become a much bigger city. Laugh if you want, but Jax is now a big city that is clinging to it's small town roots.

If the game is moved to Atlanta, we will start flying that 40 minute flight, and your team will start taking that hour and a half bus ride. Then see who cries.

So far it has only been Richt doing the crying about the WLOCP location. He wants to take his ball and go home. That's fine. I remember we did quite well at Sanford Stadium too.

Can't remember the results? Look in your record book under 'Most points ever scored by an opponent at our house."

Watch the Gators come RUN crying about that possible scenario, which even Richt has mentioned.

P.S.....it won't be the Gators crying about a game in Atlanta. Our biggest Gator Booster Club outside of FL is in Atlanta. Your biggest Booster Club outside of GA is in Jacksonville.

Watch what happens when those guys that write the 6 digit checks to UGA have to start going all the way to Atlanta to see the game instead of being able to throw their elaborate parties at home, then take the limo to the game, then sleep in their own bed at night, then play golf at one of 4 world class facilities within 30 minutes.

Gatorz,

Look I am for the game staying, but you are reaching for the stars.  Do you think our team is transported like Star Trek from Athens to Atlanta to inside the Delta Charter to Jax?  I am 45 minutes from the Airport and another 45 minutes from Sanford Stadium.  Then, since 9-11 there is this little thing called security.

You know better than this 40 minute nonsense.  It is a minimum of a 4-5 hour deal.  Again, I think that is a very slight disadvantage and I want the game to continue with it where it is at, if for no other reason than the UGA alumni in S. Georgia and Florida.

As for ATL vs Jax....I agree about the Dome's location and the things down town.  But every team that comes to the Chick Filet Bowl loves it.  Lots more to do in ATL.  But it doesn't matter.  Lets leave it where it is.

Your daughter needs to have a change of clothes doesn't she?  I have a cute red hat and black jersey I can get in the mail soonest.

Lord forgive me but I must agree with GatorZ. Jacksonville is a better location than Atlanta for the game. Its a big deal for Jacksonville and in Atlanta it will be just another dome game. Its a huge party all the way from St. Simons down. If they change it at all it should be home and home. It looks like its will be a pretty even match in the future so why mess with it?

Gatorz,

I agree.  Don't bring your ridiculous blue and orange up here to the ATL.....as a matter of fact, we'll make sure that you don't have to play in Atlanta anymore;  as long as the SEC Championship is here you don't have to worry about it, okay?
