Who should the Grizzlies pick with the 5th pick in the 08 Draft?  Beasley and Rose will not be there at #5.  The projections have us getting Mayo.  If we have Mayo-SG, Mike Miller-SF, we'd have to use Rudy Gay at PF (not his natural position), unless we trade Miller, or have one of the 3 coming off of the bench.  If we pick Mayo, what does our starting lineup look like?  Do we move Miller?  If we don't get Mayo, who do you want?  I don't like Mayo.  I want Lopez, but he may be gone by #5.

Honestly, I don't think you can draft Mayo without moving Miller. I think a better option than Mayo would be Eric Gordon, but with the loss of Gasol the biggest need is PF. With the Lakers pick they can fill that hole, but I just hope Hibbert isn't around at #28 as he will be another NBA bust.

I agree with you and think Lopez will be gone by #5, but honestly I don't think he's much of an upgrade from Darko. He's a good shooter but not athletic enough to defend anyone in the league, and won't be able to contribute much in our fast paced offense. I think with Mayo's character issues, the Grizz would be better suited to take Danilo Gallinari. Kevin Love is the next best option for a forward behind Gallinari, but I think he can be shut down too easily (i.e. see Memphis vs. UCLA in the national semifinal game). Darrell Arthur and DeAndre Jordan are fantastic options but #5 is too high for either of them.

Therefore, I like Gallinari at #5. He's supposedly more skilled than Andrea Bargnani, so I think he'd be a better fit than one else at this spot.

Any thoughts on who you'd like with the 28th pick? If CDR happens to fall that far, do you take him or Dorsey???

Ok of course we dont get lucky again but not to worry.  5th pick Deadre Jordan, 7' 260lbs.  I know thats a little high for him but he has alot of potential and could develop into a monster in the post.  We had way to many easy baskets in the paint last year and we need some big players too fill up that gap.  Check out his highlight reel on you tube.  You cant draft mayo or bayless we have to many scorers as it is right now.  For the 28th pick we could trade off a player and the pick to move into the top 20 possibly or I also like Hasheet Thabert.  I know I misspelled his name but 7'3 240 can run the floor and anveraged like 5 blocks a game his sophomore year.  We get those two I think 1 or 2 more years and we are in business.

What about this trade with the Knicks,

The Grizz send Mike Miller, Jason Collins and Javaris Critterton to the Knicks for Zach Randolph and the #6 pick. Now you have a proven low post 20/10 guy and two top picks that could be OJ Mayo or Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan. Starting lineup:

pg Conley, sg Mayo or Gordon, sf Gay, pf Randolph, c, Jordan

That's not a bad way to rebuid a franchise.

As much as I would love this trade to happen, there is no chance of this happening.

I have seen some projections, and most of them have the Grizzlies taking O.J. Mayo. He has the potential to be a great player... if he can stay out of trouble. There have been numerous reports that he accepted gifts while playing at Southern Cal. He has had character issues in the past, which makes me not want him.

If Brook Lopez is there, I say definitely take him, but I think he will be gone. Here is a more reasonable trade:

Memphis trades Mike Miller, Jason Collins, and the 5th overall pick to Minnesota for the 3rd overall pick.

See the Griz.  See the Griz draft.  See the Griz eff up the draft.  See the Griz set attendance records (for the worst ever.)  See Heisley soak up rays in Mexico.  See the owner laugh and laugh.  See Gay demand a trade.  See the Griz give him up for the rights to be the most futile franchise in all of professional sports history.  See Memphians.  See us groan.  See us moan.  See us go to games at the FedEx Forum- Tiger games.  See us wish Heisley to either sh8t or get off the pot.  See the Griz end up the lottery again.  See the Griz lose the lottery again.  Repeat.

No way they give up all that for the 3rd pick.  Heisley will never allow the Griz to roar again- as long as he owns them anyway.  He has officially ruined this team and killed Memphis as a market that could support a NBA team.  If they (the Griz) were going to do anything to improve, they wouldn't have given Pau away for NOTHING in return.  I think Heisley is a liar and is enjoyin this.  He is just using the Griz as a write off for the rest of his business'.  I mean think about it...If he wanted to sell the team, he would have made the team better to attract more buyers.  He is wanting to move this team again.  So to answer the question about who the Griz will draft-  think of the worst possible decision they could make, a pg or awful big man.

Hey UofM, I think the Grizzlies' biggest needs are PG (Mike Conley and Kyle Lowry are average at best), PF (Kwame Brown and Brian Cardinal suck), and C (Darko Milicic and Jason Collins are weak).  Rudy Gay (SF) and Mike Miller (SG) are our best players!

You are right in that Rudy and Mike are our best players.  I would still say give Conley one more year, he didn't play too bad for a rookie (remember he was injured for a good bit)  however out of those to I believe Lowry to have better potential.  Yes, are correct in saying Krape Brown and Cardinal suck.  But we will be stuck with both, I mean no one else will take either of these guys.  Fortunately Brown only has 1 season left on his contract.  We are just stuck with Cardinal (nice guy, below average NBA player)  Darko really fooled the Griz last year!  This guy wasn't healthy for a bit either.  However, he didn't produce like he said he would.  True he has only played sparingly before coming here.  There was a reason- he's not that good.  Collins, I will admit I really don't know that much about.

I hope the Griz don't give Miller away.  They better not trade him.  If they do, I see Rudy getting pissed a
