Well, it's finally resolved. Courtney Nelson will not be eligible to play basketball at RU anymore, and so has decided to transfer to a Division-III school.

That means that Mike Rosario, Mike Coburn, Corey Chandler, and Anthony Farmer won't have to split minutes with a fifth player.

More importantly, the transfer means that his scholarship will be off the books, meaning that Ricardo Ratliffe doesn't have to wait to sign with RU, assuming that's the path he decides to take (see my last post for info on this situation).

i know coburn played well last year and farmer has shown he can play at this level but i hope we see a chandler/rosario starting backcourt next year right out of the gate and have the other two coming off the bench

is it crazy for me to say this is my 5 starting five

chandler

rosario

inman

echinque(if he's eligible)

I do agree that ideally, Chandler/Rosario would be our starting back court. The only issue would be if either is prepared to play the PG position, as both are natural 2's. If not, Farmer would have to start, which honestly isn't that big of a deal to me.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the old Villanova 3-guard lineup, either. Hill's a Villanova guy, and Chandler does have the athleticism (although admittedly not the ideal size) to guard the SF's.

he does seem to recruit alot of 2's and 3's so it wouldn't shock me to see a three guard set at some point in the season...this will sound dumb but i'm not overly concerned about having a true pg...i think both can handle the job when called upon..i mean scottie pippen was the pg for chicago all those years...not alot of teams play full court presses and traps

not alot of teams play full court presses and trapsThey did it a whole lot when we had Coburn and Chandler on the floor at the same time, and predictably, they had a tough time with it. Unless one of our guys proves they can beat the press, we're going to see it constantly when Anthony Farmer isn't on the floor.

i think with a year under there belts and all offseason to work on ballhandling, both of those guy will be fine bringing the ball up the court

just my opinion
