Slaton, I teach in an inner city ms in Charlotte.  I see kids making these type of bonehead decisions every day.  Under rr, it was all about rr.  If, and it is a big if, Gwaltney makes this change, and makes himself a successful human, football is secondary, it will be a win for WV and give hope to many that it is never too late to shape up.

hey, turtle, we don't fear you, but we do wonder what you're smokin'?  Maryland dropped us this season.  We will be playing, and hopefully beating, Colorado at Colorado during the week when we would have thumped you.  You ought to get out of your shell more often.

Actually, One and only, I think the official moniker is Absolutely Classless Conference.

Slaton, I was not aware that Stewart had supported Garrison.  I agree with you on the damage he could be doing with such an action.  And, I must admit I have washed my hands of Pacman and Henry, but I do not deny their time at WV.  Here's my major point about this matter.  I have already posted that this is more about saving a human being, not a running back.  If he is not on scholarship, and only participates with the scout team, there is very little risk to WV.  Yes, Stewart could look bad, but would you rather be right or wrong about trying to help someone?  If you're right, a young man may make a positive mark in life.  If you are wrong, at least you were humane.  By limiting him to such a low profile responsibilities, it will become abundantly clear very quickly if Gwaltney has changed.  If he has not, it does not look like Stew was trying to keep a kid eligible just to exploit his athletic abilities.  Humanitarian, not crass football coach.

Slaton, I will admit that if the kid did not have marketable skills, he would not be given this opportunity.  Universities, though, are about helping people better themselves and make a positive mark in life.  Maybe the kid does not deserve it, and I knew plenty of kids in school when I was there who did not deserve it, but most state run schools give people more chances than they deserve.  I still do not see the risk, but I agree that it may go against what he said he would do at the outset.

Well first and foremost this thread has gone sideways...I never once said the kid did not deserve another chance...I just said he did not deserve one at West Virginia..There are 1000's of schools he can re-invent himself at..

And while we are all still on this subject...here is a great article about exactly the point I make about Coach Stew walking a slippery slope.....and looks like he has clealry stated his program runs a double standard...and he can't make a firm decison either...not good...

HHHHHEEEE"S   BAAAAACK!!!

I have already posted that this is more about saving a human being, not a running back.If he needs to be saved...try a church...

Under rr, it was all about rr.

This is absurd....

Why, becuase the guy asked for a raise?, He wanted new locker room's, an academic center, new suites, a web site to help finance his staff, more money for his coaches?...The  fact that the revenue streams for  the Athletic Department and MAC have tripled since he took ov
