I don't think it's worthless. I'm just not interested in watching the sport. Last women's basketball game I saw is a UVA game when they had those giant twins on the team. I was like " damn... that's a huge b....... i mean basketball woman twin!!!"

> >Can you think of a more worthless sport than the WNBA?
I can think of several.
Hockey - bunch of grown men going around beating each other up. They're all wearing bulky clothing so us women can't see their hot bodies... so it's a worthless sport.
Wrestling - fake, fake, fake. The bodies are nice, but the posing and the primping... ya just gotta laugh...
MMW - bunch of guys with tats beating each other's... you can't say brains... gray matter out of their heads.
Golf - boring, boring, boring.

If only I could show you how much I was cracking up when I read this post!!! First of all, have you realized that all of the sports you mentioned in your list are ten times more popular than the wnba? Wrestling, Hockey, Mixed Martial "Arts", not "Wrestling", and Golf are sports that contain the three things you need to be considered a league:
1. A fan base.
2. A TV audience.
3. Talent, which the wnba majorly lacks.
Also, many people have stated that if someone likes the NBA, but not the wnba, than they are sexist. Actually, most of the people that enjoy watching NBA, but not wnba games, enjoy basketball for the skills that the players consist of. If the wnba "players" had skills in basketball, maybe they would have more than five fans, and maybe they would be making more than $10,000 a year. The wnba "players" put more heart into their play? Yeah right, the NBA players put their hearts in it because they have something to play for, which is money.

YOU REALLY HAVE YOUR HEAD UP SOMEWHERE THAT THE SUN DOESN'T SHINE... THE WOMEN PLAY A PURE VERSION OF WHAT BASKETBALL WAS MEANT TO BE... NOT THE HYPE AND GLITTER AND EGO STROKING THAT IS DONE TODAY AND TO THIS DAY I HAVE YET TO SEE AN "I" IN TEAM...WHICH THE MEN HAVE ALL TO FREQUENT. PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LOOK...OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE A PURE VERSION OF THE GAME...IT MIGHT GROW ON YOU!!! THE WOMEN ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO BE "HOT" YOU IDIOT..THEY'RE ATHLETES...MOST OF WHICH "CLEAN UP" NICELY, IF YOU'D TAKE THE TIME TO REALLY LOOK. QUIT BEING SO F'ING MACHO.. IT ISN'T BECOMING AT ALL....WOMEN ARE JUST AS ABLE TO BECOME REALLY GOOD ATHLETES AS MEN.

I have my head up there? Think again...Nobody plays basketball for the version it was meant to be in your words. It was meant to be played for money, which IS the way it was meant to be. The NBA players are selfish??? Hmm...Lets take a look at the two teams in the NBA finals. Boston- The team is pretty much called "The Big 3." Thats right 3, not 1. Los Angelas- Sure, Kobe is the best player on the Lakers, but that team would be nowhere near where they are now if it wasnt for Gasol, Odom, and Fisher. Sorry, but women are not able to be as good of athletes as men are and they will never be. By the way, I wasnt sugesting that all women have to be "Hot" in order to play in the wnba, I simply suggested it would be a way to sell more tickets.

Actually, its the most popular thread. The only one with more posts, "statistical analysis of the wnba", is just a thread completely about the TV series "Lost".

I would love to see a WNBA team play a college men's basketball team. It would be like the Billie Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs tennis match in 1973, when Billie Jean King defeated Riggs (former Wimbledon champ) who was big-time sexist against women playing sports. By the way, young and talented AND beautiful Candace Parker made sports history in 2004 when she won the big McDonalds High School All-American Slam Dunk contest . As a 17-year-old high school senior, Parker beat five male competitors for the prestigious title, including future 2005 NBA Slam Dunk contestant JR Smith and champion Josh Smith. Other winners of the McDonalds slam dunk contest were Vince Carter, LeBron James and David Lee. Ms. Parker's fiance and brother BOTH play for the NBA. Funny, they don't think her livelihood is worthless. Just a little information for you cavemen who can't seem to get their knuckles off the | |
