Well we got the 8th pick in the draft.  After the first 5 picks the talent level drops off pretty quickly.  If i were John Hammond i would seriously consider trading this pick away for a veteran player.  If i were forced to pick a player i would take Gallinari out of Italy.  But as of right now i think we should trade the pick for some value and then go out and get even more in free agency.

I could see the Bucks go with Danilo Gallinari, but another interesting player that I could see the bucks pick is D.J. Augustin.

I dont know if we will go PG.  We have 2 good guys at that spot already in Mo and Sessions.  But as long as we are on the topic of D.J. we could also trade down in the draft to get D.J. White, who is another guy that i really like and that many people are sleeping on.  We trade our pick for a player (a veteran winner, since teams lower in the draft have good records) and a pick late in the first to get a young, physical D.J. White.

With Kelvin Sampson on the coaching staff now, I could see the Bucks taking Gordon at 8 (assuming he's still there) or trading down to take White.  I'm not sure that White is an improvement over the guys that we have at PF/C (Bogut and Yi) but it might give us enough depth to jettison Gadzuric finally (crossing my fingers).

The Bucks need to dump these big salary guys and start over. Redd,Williams,Simmons, and Gadzuric. In order for this to happen they will have to part with the likes of the 8th pick, Bogut and Yi.   I say Redd and Simmons to Cleveland for their fist pick and Wally Z's expiring contract.  Then send Bogut, Williams and Gadzuric for their pick and Marbury's expiring contract.  That leaves you with 3 first rounders this year(Gordon,White and Chris Douglas-Roberts seem possible?) and Yi and Sessions to build around.  The thing about these trades or something similar is that they work for eveyone. Cleveland gets the big time scorer/shooter to complement James. The Knicks get a quality young big guy still under his rookie contract as well as a quality young PG locked up at a reasonable rate of pay. The Bucks get to dump contracts in favor of young talent, while not completely destroying the team.

Sending Micheal Redd and Bobby Simmons to Clevland, Andrew Bogut, Mo Williams and Dan Gadzuric to new York is ERRONEOUS! That does not make us better. i see it releasing money but that does not help us until later. Fans want to win now and not later. If we do that rest assured the Bucks will be out of Milwaukee. I reallyu don't know much about the italian kid but Badger fill me in a little but Cris douglas roberts might be there for us at 8. Gordon might be there but DJ White is a good possibilty. But I still say lets package that pick and get Jason Richardson, Stephen Jackson, somebody with a little toughness that will make us better now. We are missing just a few pieces and packaging this pick with a Danny G or Bobby Simmons is a nice way to start.

I don't think Gallinari will be there at 8 and taking Augustin at 8 is way, way too early. Most drafts I have seen have us taking Eric Gordon at that spot and honestly I couldn't think of a worse pick.

Going to Wisconsin I have seen him play all year and I just can't imagine that his game will translate very well. Any NBA SG that has any talent at defense could shut him down. Plus the last thing that the Bucks need is another shoot-first guard. We got sorta boned in the lottery (only because I wanted a higher pick) and we should probably just trade it.

If Russell Westbrook is there I would consider taking him, but I think he's pretty overrated as well. And one note on Gallinari, I hope if he's there we don't take him because the Bucks do not need another really soft post player.

Thanks John, I did not know this guy is soft. What college is he from? (Gallinari) Or is he over seas. I just read that John Hammonds wants to  not make alot of changes and likes the back court and really thinks YI and bogut is a good tandem but wants to make changes at the small forward spot. Well so long D-mason and good riddance Bobby Simmons. Draft Chris Douglas Roberts and lets make some trades for a good vet player.

the only erronous thing here is thinking that a 26 win team is a Jason Richardson or Stephen Jackson away from contending. Also, any GM with any sense would not take Bobby Simmons contract without getting a valuable young player in return.   The Bucks have some valuable pieces but they simply don't mesh well together and they haven't had a true core since the Big three.  They need to start over with all young players now so they can grow together.  If they stand pat or add the pieces you suggest they might make the playoffs only to exit in round one and Redd will be one year older, Bogut, Yi and Sessions will be on year closer to free agency and we will have shelled out millions for a 40 win team that gets bounced from the playoffs by the creaky Celtics.
