I like to read the series threads a lot, but every time I look in the thread, at least 2 people complain that the refs are fixing the games.  Look, the refs are human, they make mistakes, but blaming them for your favorite team losing sucks.  The refs can't control if a team goes stone cold from the field, they can't control whether a team plays with effort or not, they don't control how many turnovers you get.  Like I said, they make mistakes, they're human, humans make mistakes, but to blame them for your team losing is pretty weak.

So by all means, perpetuate the cycle by dedicating an entire thread to the topic.

I agree, blaming the refs for your teams loss is weak.

The refs have a split second to determine what just happend, they are human and will be wrong sometimes.

Get over it.

I just find it ironic that after the way the Spurs and Hornets series unfolded .. that now it's Spurs fans who are complaining about officiating.

It's almost like a cyclical pattern.

I agree that you can't totally blame refs for your team losing but they very well can play a huge part in it.  They are human and humans make mistakes but when you are losing you see alot more of those mistakes than if you are winning.  Refs really can cause a team to go cold though.  If you team is mounting a comeback and gets with in 3 to 1 pt away from a tie or lead and the refs blow the whistle it kills momentum.  It is especially bad when replays show that the whistle "could have been held due to the reffing of that game and how they had been calling things" or there really was no reason for a whistle and they just didn't see what really happend on the play and they "assumed what happend while not really seeing what did...........i.e. flops called by out of possision refs".  Anyone who plays or has played ball knows the effect of a bad call and what it can do to your team...........especialy when your trying to get over the hump.  They can be comeback breakers or they can let teams back into a game if you are trying to fight off a comeback.  We have all seen it numerous times this post season and I don't think that refs are fixing games but I do think that the NBA has a slight agenda and these thoughts are passed on to the refs on how to ref certian teams or players in the post season differantly than they did in the regular.
