ChicagoMarine,
I've always respected your opinion concerning my favorite NBA franchise and would love to hear what you think concerning the pick. Are you a Beasley or a Rose guy? I think I've personally hopped back and forth over that fence about 6 times in the last 24 hours, and now I'm back at Derrick Rose. If you've answered my question elsewhere, I'll probably find it eventually, but I thought i'd ask you anyway.

I wouldn't take anything from the Heat except for Wade or Marion.. That team needs serious help.

Hinrich and Marion's contracts do not match, so the Bulls would have to pony up a bit more than just Kirk. Perhaps Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas, allowing the Bulls to sign and trade with Deng to get another piece.
A friend whose hoop knowledge I respect feels that Rose immediately makes either Ben Gordon/Hinrich and/or Deng that much better as spot up shooters. As he drives and draws, whomever is there will benefit from the open shots he creates. I prefer keeping the the biggest of your backcourt in Hinrich, Hughes and Gordon to pair with Rose. Sign and trade Luol while acquiring even more athleticism along the frontline. Gooden is not a 20/10 but can't we live with his 16/8?

OK, I have two ideas.
Hughes, Gooden, and Tyrus for Gilbert Arenas. Bulls draft Beasley. I like the Idea of starting Arenas at PG and Hinrich at SG. Have Thabo and Gordon come of the bench. Very Solid team all the way around.
or
Hinrich, Gooden, and 2nd rounder for Elton Brand. Bulls draft Rose. Rose and Hughes start with Thabo and Gordon off the bench. Deng, Brand, and Noah would be scary with Nocioni and Gray coming off the bench.
No matter what the Bulls are going to be stacked. We got super lucky. This is a big turning point. It is Paxson-proof. I do not see how we do not make it to the ECF next year.

Jazzman,
Is it really worth turning ourselves into pretzels worrying about getting Shawn Marion? I don't think so. Though I like the idea of dumping our elf-looking PG. Kirk is now very expendable, but I just doubt any team would bite on the ridiculous contract Pax gave him. I still say we go after Andre Iguodala this offseason. Let Ben and Luol take some other sucker's money and offer the max to Andre. I know i'm starting to sound like every other "pie in the sky guy" on these boards, but allow me a little latitude here. I think the upside would be tremendous and Andre might have to seriously think about it given the attraction of playing in a bigger market, next to Rose, and hopefully for a fine coach (are you sure Jeff Van Gundy isn't interested?).
Here's the obligatory "new" starting five that will just amaze you (tongue firmly planted in cheek).
PG - Derrick Rose
SG - Andre Iguodala
SF - Andres Nocioni
PF - Drew Gooden
C - Joakim Noah

I do not think the Bulls should even concider trading the first pick, Derrick Rose would be a franchise player for us.
I think we should build around Deng and Rose. I would be willing to trade anyone involving: Hinrich, Gordon, Gooden, Thomas, Noah.
If the Bulls could keep Rose and Deng and somehow get a solid big man, it would be a fun team to watch.

That's true, just as long as we do not overpay for a big man...just like IMO the Suns did for Shaquille O'Neal

Overall I just think we need to keep the 1st pick and Keep Deng and Noah. Anyone else you can discuss a trade with. If we pick Rose we find a way to get a Big man. I was looking at Highlight film on both and Beasley is a Beast. Rose is ok on Flim but he isnt great, but He does the little things. If you take both film Beasley is the better player but I think Rose has more upside.
