It seems like there is a story every day about the great Rick Ankiel. Wasn't this the same guy that got caught using roids or HGH after he hit a bunch of juiced up HRs? Do I have the wrong guy? If I do, sorry. If I don't why did Ricky get a free pass?
you are right, this is the guy, and being that they can't test and don't test for HGH chances are he is still using it. I am personally a little annoyed that people have annointed this a feel good story. IT WASa feel good story up until he got busted for receiving a 12 month shipment of HGH. This guys is a fraud.
Guy took HGH to overcome a devastating series of arm injuries. He wanted to do anything he could do to make it in the league. He came from a tough up bringing and has not always made the best decisions, but he is turning into a responsible man at 28 like a lot of people do.
If you two have never made mistakes good for you and just keep lying to yourselves. Rick Ankiel is a feel good story when you are a Cardinals fan, that is for sure. Watching him crush the ball and make throws no one has ever seen feels good!!!!!!!!!
you both need to check your timelines. he wasn't "retired" from pitching when he was receiving the shipments of HGH. It's easy and somewhat warranted to be skeptical of all things stat-wise, but he was hitting his "juiced up" homers in the majors in 2007. Well after his HGH shipment was received.
He was using HGH under a doctor's direction and with a valid prescription. If this is illegal then I guess Rafael Palmeiro is not only guilty of juicing but also of using Viagra because it is essentially the same.
keep spinning...he got busted for recieving 12 months worth of HGH. HGH is not being tested for in the Baseball right now, so I think it is fair to assume he is still very capable of using it again. Given the fact he was caught once I dont think it is stretch to consider the strong possibility he is still using, of course, this is all besides the point. My point was that this was NOT a great story because of his HGH use.
I checked the profiles for Wainwright and Hiijack; both Cardinal fans. Amazing what you can overlook if the guy is on your team. This explains all those yahoos in SF cheering for Boom Boom Bonds all those years.
When Rick was under the doctors care did the doc envision that Rick would need 12 month's worth of HGH to get over arm problems? Wake up and smell the Budweiser fellows. I am all for giving people second chances, but there are other great stories and clean stories in BB this year.
