Mario Williams vindicated, Yes.  Reggie Bush a bust, Huh?  The guy has an all-around sensational rookie season running, catching and even throwing the ball that most would have only dreamed about.  He helped the Saints win their first EVER playoff game and were a step away from the Super Bowl.  He plays hurt most of his second season sucking it up and trying to help the team win and gets called a bust.  WoW!  Didnt know you had to score a touchdown on every play to be considered a success.  He is a pure talent and an all-around good guy.  You dont have to worry about reading that he is proud of  smoking dope in the off season or he needs extra cash by selling crack rocks or getting stabbed in the neck while some pregnant woman gets shot and killed.  Come on, give him a break.  Wait to judge the magnitude of his impact and success after his career is over, not 2 yrs into it.  I would think most true sports fans would understand that.....

If you remember, being that everyone thought Bush was the next coming plenty of teams were interested in a possible trade up to get him or Leinhart or Young or etc, etc. Point is there were teams that were willing to make a deal to move up. Im saying the Texans missed an opportunity.

I spent almost 2 years defending the Williams pick over Bush and VY. I lived in Austin and did not meet one person who agreed with me on the subject, but now, I have enjoyed myself immensely as get to go back to all the critics and say to them "I told you so".

Bush is not a bad back, but he is not a featured back and never will be. Taking that and the fact that RB's tend to have alot shorter careers than DE I felt it was smart.

But I got the most ciriticism about not taking VY. As much as I loved him I knew his game wouldnt translate to the NFL as quickly and as well as others believed. I hate to see him sturggling in the NFL because of what he did for Texas. It does amaze me though that so many give him credit for the Titans success. It is as if throwing twice as many interceptions as you do TD's is the magic formula for the NFL. Just think of how good the Titans would be if they had Lienart. Or if they just started Kerry.

Big jazz, they didnt miss anything. It is you that is missing the point. Number 1's dont get moved.  You dont get the value you want for them for you are trading out of a position of weakness. If you are offering up the number one overall pick you are saying to the league that you dont feel there is a player there worth that pick and therefore the kind of money a number 1 demands. They will give you less then you deserve if they give you anything at all for this pick. The furthers the Texans could have slid down and still got their guy, Mario, would have been to the 3rd slot. That means they had 2 teams they could broker a deal with. Chances are they did have talks with both, and chances are neither offer them something they felt was worthy of sliding down and taking the risk that they might not get there guy. It is not like the Texans felt they had some keen insight to Mario. If they felt he was the best guy in the draft who is to say that a team they traded with didnt think the same? Who is to say that if they made the deal with the Saints that the Saints would not have taken Mario? For example? It is not as easy as you make it sound.

"Trade the pick" isn't a legitimate argument. Saying that is the equivalent of saying something like "next year, Team Such-n-Such should sign Steven Jackson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and Julius Peppers when they hit free agency!"

Real life isn't like a video game where you can manipulate your roster any which way you want. In real life, teams say no and make demands and things get priced out of your range.

Pass rusher > RB.

Anyone with a brain knows this.  People need to stop buying into the media hype.  Kudos to the Texans.
