I have to believe that you would have to keep everyone, at least, in the beginning. The Bulls were a 49 team win 2 years ago. With most of the same players back they fell apart.  I was very disappointed that Paxson did not make a move last year but feel that getting the 1st pick was his redemption.

This Bulls team has so many good supporting players that we are only missing someone to lead them. We would of had to trade somebody to get one last year & now we will get 1 for nothing. By adding a superstar through the draft, it will make everyone better. If only to build up their value, it would be worthwhile to keep them for the start of the year. They can't get any worse so it is worth it to see how they will play with someone to take the pressure of them.

I definitely want to trade some of the players we have because you can not keep all of them and make them happy. The only reason to keep them is too build up their value & get somebody better in return. I would package 2-3 players together if I could get somebody good in return. I say we are only 1 player away from being competitive every year.

Deng is the perfect complimentary player. With Rose being the leader, we are only 1 player away from being a really good team. From Noc, Kirk, Tyrus, Gordon, Gooden, Noah & Thabo, we only need 4 from this group. It could be any 4(although I have my preferences). I would trade 3 & draft picks if that is what it would take to get that 3rd player.
The result would be a competitive team that would be in the championship hunt for years to come. But I think you have to build up the players value first(which I don't see a problem doing), in order to get that 3rd player that will put us over the top.

You probably could, but Marion's contract is problematic as I doubt if Deng signs for that much, so you'd be forced to involve another team or add a player to make it work.  The other issue is I do not want to become to veteran while giving up so much youth.  Deng and Tyrus Thomas match salry wise, but then you would be talking about Marion and Jefferson at the 3 and 4.  A lot of games on those knees and not really that big.  Noah would have to grow up quickly if that is the front line.

I would rather see a younger veteran returned and one who would actually bring some rebounding and a little low post scoring.  To that end, Okafor would work, but is Charlotte looking to re-sign the restricted FA?

A lot of what I read involves wholesale changes without regard to the salary cap issues nor the reality that if Rose is drafted, either Gordon or Kirk Hinrich has to go.  Also, if Deng, Noc, Gooden and Thomas are kept, there is still a need for a BU 5 not named Aaron Gray.   While it is possible to bring back the entire roster plus Rose, I do not think that is what Paxson will do.   At least one of the golden trio of Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich will not be a Bulls player next season.  And, Tyrus Thomas and Andres Nocioni should not get too comfortable either.  While I doubt if the ponderously deliberate Paxson turns into trader jack, I think it is necessary to add some toughness.  I also think it is time to get the attention of the remaining young guys by them seeing one of their brethren traded.  Hell, it is important for Pax to learn to that players you drafted are tradeable assets.  He needs to separate himself from one of the good guys he drafted as well.  But hey, we will soon find out.

I definitely agree that a trade would wake them up & make them realize you have to keep working in order to stay with a ball club. I think since most of them were high draft picks, they feel like they are safe & don't have to work as hard. Okafor would be nice with this team but I still think we need someone with more offensive skills. I have heard good things about Tyrus trying to improve, but then again, I have heard that before. Something definitely should be done.

Well, now that draft day is over and the Bucks have already made a splash, i dont see that trade happening. I agree with the resigns.

I really hope the Bulls go after Okafor. This guy is an absolute beast and would REALLY help rose in his development. A sign and trade with gordon and shipping Heinrich over would be great for us in that we would get rid of some cap room.

Brand would be just as good as okafor too.

After discovering just how old he is, we can only pray we dont trade for Camby. I thought he would be good, but i heard he was at least 34 right? If thats the case, GOD NO. We have to give rose at the very least 2 years to expect great things from him. Again, using Chris Paul and Deron Williams as examples, paul was not a superstar until just last year, his 3rd year.

so because of that, camby is way to old for our team. I just felt like mentioning him because he has been in the rumors.

ChiTown, that trade would be awesome, but I want to keep both Kirk Hinrich as a great back up point guard and shooting guard and keep Drew Gooden because he is still young and is going to be a very solid big man. I would like to get Charlie but I am afraid of what we would have to give up to get him, and the same goes for Michael Redd. He is very talented but he is old and with our young shotting guards and small forwards I don't think we really need him. We needed a point guard and we got him and if we keep Hinrich as a back up he will push Derrik Rose to be better or Hinrich could move up to starter if for some reason Rose isn't ready for the NBA. Now we need a solid big ma
