Their last offer was in the neighborhood of $6.7 million and most of their players haven't reached free agency.

I will give Hossa credit, he said he would play for a team paying less that was going to win the cup.  It will be tough for Detroit to lose 15 games next year.

Is he this stupid? A ONE year deal?

What if he tears his knee up, or another type on injury like that? He is stupid for not taking a multi-year deal. Or what if he has a horrible year? He'll be 30yrs old next season!

WOW how could Winter let him do that?!?!

I thought he wanted long term.  One year is probably all Detroit could offer him.  I believe they're free agency nightmare is next year.

That was a complete d*ck move on Marian Hossa's part. He really blew a bunch of smoke up the Penguins fans a*ses. Now let's see who Shero can get, there still are some good options out there and we can sign them too shorter deals to have more options in the future. I have to agree with Crow and say that I can't see the Jaromir Jagr deal working out. He just isnt the type of player to take a backseat to others and that is exactly what he has to do if he comes here.
