Now that we are looking for a new Defensive Coordinator what do you think the Bengals defensive scheme should be

The 4-3 has never seemed to work for us. we are never in position to draft the stud lineman, or we have more glaring weaknesses (QB-pre Palmer) in the past.  We are in position this year to draft LB's, we could even trade down a few spots and still be in good shape.

But more than likely this is what will happen- the Bengals will not resign Stacey Andrews and draft Jake Long (OT) with the 9th pick, once again ignoring our defensive needs.

I agree we do need to switch over from the 4-3 to the 3-4. the 4-3 is just not working. We need to go into the draft and get some backers. Two that I had in mind were James Laurinaitis out of Ohio State if he choose to go pro, and Keith Rivers out of USC. Both our very good at the linebacker position and I believe they both could come in and make an impact right away.

OH is right though. We will go into the draft ignoring our needs and draft a defense lineman like Chris Long out of Virginia

We need more help at the linebacker postion more than we do the defensive line. Chris Long would not be a bad pick but we really need linebackers. Who knows how Odell Thurman will play after sitting out two years and basically everyone that we have now seems to be injury prone. We need big changes

i think we need more help at our defensive line this team produces no pressure we need some quick defensive ends Justin Smith has to go once they get pressure you say our linebackers will be thirty times better.

if we get a healthy brooks and a clean odell back we suddenly wont look so bad a linebacker. maybe draft a first round backer (again) and then get some speed on the end. let smith go, he cannot get to qb at all. Hopefully start the year off healthy and go from there. What does everyone think we will do at the running back position. getting a little crowded there if you ask me. seems like we have a lot of money tied up in that position for a team that doesnt run all that well.

For the Running back position i would bet we are going to try to do what we were going to do this season. Bring in Rudi for the power running and Kenny Irons for the speed running. I honestly dont see the need for Chris Perry anymore, and the rest of our backs dont seem like anything to special. Rudi is getting close to the point where he wont be able to run like he used to, and once that happens im thinking Irons will be our single starting back

we gotta go with the 3-4 after the 08 draft because it seems like all we did was pick up lb's and wr's also the lb injuries last year gave a lot of guys on field experience so this year we will have much more depth with people coming off of injured reserve

the Bengals have who at linebacker, aside from rivers? Dhani Jones??? Landon Johnson is gone. theres no way the bengals have the personnel to run a 3-4. and the linemen arent exactly big guys to plug up the run.
