People, Blake Griffin is good.  The only problem is is that he is not great, like you all are making him out to so awesome player.  Yeah he can dunk and pull down some boards, but his shooting range 5 feet and closer, he sucks at free-throws.  Plus, if you all actually went to the freaking basketball games like I do (I have been to every home game), you would see how lazy this kid is.  Now he has gotten a whole lot better from the beginning of the season, but he is no where close to being a NBA quality player (give him 1 more year and then he'll be great)

you know how you said that he can dunk and rebound. but his ranges is only 5 feet and he sucks at the free throw line you know who that reminds me of  when you say all those things.  SHAQ the Diesel the destroyer, and i think he is under the catagory of being great dont you. Also go look on www.nbadraft.com and you we see that people think a lot differently then what you do.

If you watched the WVU you would know that Blake Griffin is a stud, and he is not lazy he is just young and immature, and doesn't understand adversity, but he will.  If there was a way that he could stay and then we bring in the 5 star point guard from Ft. Worth we will be ready to make a run at a Big 12 Champ next year, but I doubt Griffin will stay.

OK...since he ain't all that good, then who has OU ever had that is in his class?  I know we all have our favorites, but c'mon we haven't had a kid like this since King or Tisdale.

OKman , you are right..But King and Mookie were alot of fun to watch! Price was good but lacked in size . If he had 2" more height & 20 lbs more weight , lord knows what he could have been!

You all are just going by his stats, actually go to a game and see him if he is so awesome. to the comment made earlier comparing him to shaq, get real, Shaq is 7'2" and weighs a whole lot more, blake dosen't have his height or aggression.

Basketball is not just an offensive game and Blake Gfiffins defense is worse than his free-throw shooting.

There is this guy named Wayman Tisdale, the first freshman all-american in the country and three-time all-american and he went on to play twelve seasons in the NBA, know one else compares to him in the history of Oklahoma basketball.  He could do it all.

Blake is no-where close to Tisdale

I agree Griffin is no Tisdaly (who is?), but he is the best we have had since...including Stacey King...and I loved Stacey King!  I just see unlimited potential in this kid...he has had some struggles and he has also looked unreal...you can't fault Sooner fans for hyping this kid!

To say that Blake Griffin's defense is worse than his free-throw shooting is just wrong.  His presence alone made guards in the Big 12 alter their paths to the basket, just out of intimidation.  All it would take is one blocked shot sailing into the fourth row, and guards all over the place would hesitate to bring it inside.  The only player all year to really stick it to Blake Griffin was a little-known player name MICHAEL BEASLEY.  Maybe you've heard of him?

Without Blake, this OU team doesn't even make the NIT.  Yes, his shooting range is horrible.  Yes, he has to mature as a player and keep him raw emotion in check.  But, on the whole, he is just a Freshman with tremendous upside.

Soonerhitman,

I totally agree. He was only a freshman and he did the right thing by coming out and saying that he will stay. He needed to stay. His game was not well rounded and needed a lot of work. If he declared for the NBA, he would have definitely been out of his league. I think he would have played in the NBA but not even as a starter. Hopefully, with just one more year (or more) at OU, he will become more mature (on and off the court). I like his size and sometimes his effort. He should be a stud next year and OU should be able to make the tournament again no problem. Hopefully, past the second round. Go Sooners!

Just a comment : Mookie could steal your underware out of your shorts and you wouldn't even notice . That guy could steal the ball, fast break , make the shot , and by the time you noticed it OU had the ball back the next play!..Wish that would have went over to the next level.

Soonrfan32, here are some Mookie Blaylock facts for you: he is top 5 all-time in the NBA in steals per game, was an All-Star, and Pearl Jam named their debut album "Ten" after his number when he was a Net.  Also, Pearl Jam occasionally plays under the name "Mookie Blaylock" when they play in small clubs.  He was no Jordan, but he was a very good NBA player.

Andrew kyle I was not talking about his height his weight or aggression i was talking about his free throw percentage and how he shoots in the same spot as shaq thats it and the way griffin plays reminds me of shaq.
